Will the Labour Party go feral on the Greens?

Kiwiblog

In Australia the ALP has been pointing out the truth about the Greens as the Greens are as big a bunch of fruit loops there as they are here. They are also as big a threat to Labour as they are to the ALP, so it would not be surprising if Labour forget the enemy is the Tories or within and start fighting the Greens.

This would all be very good for my oldest friend in caucus, Coromandel MP Scott Simpson.

As regular readers know the Greens and Labour are talking about colluding to beat Scott in some kind of shameless, shabby deal that needs to be exposed for what it is. Labour and the Greens fighting publicly would probably kill the chances of Scott getting beaten by a dodgy deal.

NZ and AUS are different countries in vastly different political situations.

If you look at NZ politics today and think Labour might be about to “go feral” on the Greens you need to read more news and fewer blogs.

    Yes they will.

Labour will face huge challenges come 2014 election time. From inside, Labour will have the rainbow and union factions all vying for supremacy internally, as well as the David’s issues to contend with and all whilst trying to offer the public a solid, well organised cohesive face in front of the media.

Then there’s the Greens encroaching more and more on Labour’s traditional voter base – and winning – which will only frighten and scare the union and rainbow factions into ever increasing desperation to “act” as the polls all show Labour sliding further and further into oblivion – dissolving in a fetid stench of irrelevance.

Labour’s real “main contender” is National – but Labour won’t be able to get anywhere near National – in the polls, popularity or credible policies stakes – so will revert to type and encourage / fuel yet more in-fighting between David and David and union and rainbow factions – all who will be emboldened to push their factions agendas and personality to be the “new” leader.

Despite Labour’s best spin and attempts to keep all their dirty laundry in-house – plenty of their messy in-fighting squabbles will get to see daylight and as a result – NZ won’t want anything to do with a political party that continues to fight internally, changes “leader” every other month, looses all the time to the Greens and has nothing to add to NZ Inc – except more taxes, red tape and corrupt individuals that Labour offers as “credible representatives of NZ”

So the question is – when will they roll Shearer?
