Respect & RIP fallen soldiers
I put the link to this on the Conway web site and one ex cadet came back and said he watched it twice and it is tghe most moving tribute he has ever seen.
So how many times will they do this before NZDF public relations decide that we’ve had enough? When will we stop bringing them home? Are they more worthy of this PR hoo-haa than their fathers and grandfathers? The woman had a point: we should let her make it without this hysterical reaction, hakas included.
Are you kidding? Are you suggesting that this tribute was made in response to some of the comments someone made? Here’s a tip for you too buddy. Unlike politicians, hippies and corporates, NZDF personnel are NOT driven by Public Relations. Your suggestion that this farewell to comrades in arms is a publicity stunt is a pathetic slur. Perhaps if the price of human life was as obviously valued in the country in which they died as it is in the NZDF, then there wouldn’t be a need for our people to be there. Who else is going to help them ? You?
If it’s pathetic, why does it make you so irate? Ask yourself, “Was this some impromptu display of emotion?” it’s very clear that it was a well-organised event, and it’s very clear that it can’t keep happening – not unless they’ve got nothing else to do.
Peterkar you are obnoxious like a certain filmmaker who upset a lot of people over the last few days. Pull your fucking head in.
A well organised funeral? Imagine! Dolt.
It wasn’t the funeral, you oaf.
Peterkar You are one of the .001% nasty obnoxious twits that permeate our society. You speak a pile of rancid muck based a some sort of twisted belief. I have stopped using the other vile womens name but you are very much the same.
I feel sorry for your shallow life, however I really hope it makes you feel good.
Take the bag off your head PeterK, this was no PR stunt.
The questions remain. When will they stop being newsworthy? When will we stop having fits if someone steps away from the politically orthodox line? For the record, NZDF has a highly effective PR department, aided and abetted by plays to emotion in the deaths of young people.
Peterkar. They will never stop being newsworthy. Just as the fathers and grandfathers who fell before them are still newsworthy and who are remembered in many different ways and on many different days. The responsibility for the destruction of evil falls upon us all, and there are those who will fall in the exercising of that responsibility. There are those that would have us walk away from that responsibility. And they are those who are the begetters and abetters of evil. The few will fall as they do their duty, and the many will benefit. Be pleased you are one of the many, and mourn those that are the few since they, like those others that serve us, are truely heroes.
Absolutely, In Vino Veritas. Thank you.
Pissed again, I would’ve said.
Oh Dear. Self-righteousness like this causes the deaths of young people. Theatrical homecomings help to compound that self-righteousness, which is devoid of any moral foundation.
If you think that what I have written is self righteous, then you need to pop back to school. And no one has ever been killed by “self rightousness” since it is just two words. Bullets kill people, words don’t. Devoid of moral foundation? How laughable.
