How good?

How good do you have to be to get to heaven?

There are many many denominations that tell you various different things to get you to heaven…but there is only one way.

Very cool – what a perfect way to describe what God’s love is all about and such a great way to put things back into perspective (esp re the raging war on the rights to marriage)!!!!

“How do you prove that God exists and that you’re not wasting your time?”
“The good book tells me so, and so does that video clip you just watched.”
“Umm, okayyyy…. you can’t prove something doesn’t exist when you can’t observe it and have no evidence that it does exist. You are willing to use that paradox as inescapable proof that your God must exist. How do you know he is your God and that you haven’t just relabelled someone else’s God?”

    That was very “good”. There
is only one way. There is a saying – “Good people go the hell – bad people
go to heaven”. Those who think they are going to get heaven by being
“good” or doing good works don’t understand that God see all
righteous deeds as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6
“All of us have become like one who is unclean,

    and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags;

we all shrivel up like a leaf,

and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” Any
religion that requires “good works” as a prerequisite to get to
    heaven is wrong.Ephesians
2:8-9 8 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and
this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by
works, so that no one can boast.”

I can’t prove China exists cos I have never been there.
I can’t prove heaven exists, though I have experienced it a little. The good book holds first-hand stories of people who have seen much more.
I can’t prove God exists, though I can offer some clues. This is a post I put up on Friday on just that subject. http://elephanza.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/it-matters.html

Its not about being good or bad, just who you know. Like being in the mafia.
