According to author Kevin Dutton, psychopaths have a distinct set of personality characteristics. Pictured is Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates in Psycho.

His book looks very interesting and the personality test is fascinating.

Andrew Sullivan blogs on some aspects of it.

      Here is a test that went around on email some years ago. Good for a laugh to see if you think like a psycho. (My husband answered it pretty much straight away – that’s a worry :) .

      This is a story about a girl.

      While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not
      know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much the dream guy that she was
      searching for that she fell in love with him immediately.

    This will probably undermine the persuasiveness of my usual comments on WO’s blog, but I hit the answers intuitively and it came out:

    The interesting result from this assortment of results is that just about everybody comes out (self-assessed) as “High” or “Very high” on persuasiveness. Kind of expected, as otherwise why would you post strongly expressed opinions on a blog if you didn’t think you could persuade others to your point of view?
