People are Stupid, Ctd

The Herald reports:

A first-time Jetstar customer says he will never book with the airline again after a lengthy ordeal over flights to Melbourne.

What rock had this customer been under to book with Jetstar to start with?

Aucklander Chris Dugan, 34, says the two-and-a-half-month dispute – during which he spent hours on the company’s helpline, made repeated complaints and faced spending Christmas stranded in Australia – has “left a sour taste in the mouth”.

Well, Chris, if it took you two and a half months to get the message, then not only are you living under a rock, you’re also a slow learner.

At least you got there in the end, eh?

“I’d rather swim, to be brutally honest,” than try to fly Jetstar, he said.

Jetstar will give you a low cost airfair. There is just one little catch if they break the contract it’s your problem. Unless you have a lawyer and are willing to pay (most people are not) be prepared to get little support if things don’t work out.

The only question is how are they working to capitalize on this to get more passengers wanting low fairs (Ryanair in Ireland is famous for this!).

Ryanair wouldn’t get away with half of of what Jetstar do due to EU regulations regarding flight cancellations or delays – about the only thing they (the EU) is good for.
