Who else will be demoted?

Farrar asks who else will be demoted in the fallout from the Labour Leadership debacle?

Here are two candidates, who yesterday refused to ‘pre-endorse’ David Shearer for the February secret ballot.

This refusal is despite the behind-the-scenes bully tactics that Brian Edwards reveals here:

A little bird (not David Cunliffe) has told me that in the run-up to today’s emergency caucus meeting a number of Labour MPs, probably a majority, were rung by David Shearer or one of his apparatchiks seeking a cast-iron guarantee that they would be supporting Shearer today and in the constitutionally mandatory confidence vote in February.
This is both unethical and against Labour’s constitution. It makes nonsense of today’s ‘unanimous’ vote. And it makes nonsense of the February vote. If a majority of Labour MPs have yielded to this monstrous piece of bullying, that vote has in effect already been taken.

And then he concludes:

Cunliffe has been charged, found guilty and silenced. So much for fairness. So much for openness and transparency.
So much for Labour.

    Edwards writes that Cunliffe hasn’t actually done anything and there has been no leadership challenge….um what planet is he on? Of course Cunliffe is jockying for position he wants the job and eveyone knows it, to say otherwise is just stupid. He may have been “technically” correct with what he said in not declaring his support at the next vote, but to say that is not being disloyal is plain stupid, but then, Mr Edwards was Aunty Helens right hand woman for awhile wasnt he?

    Wouldn’t be too hard to say yes now and vote against him in the secret ballot in Feb. Its been done countless times before.
