10My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them!
… sin is their trade and business, and the constant course of their lives; they are hardened, impudent, and daring, and not content to sin themselves, but do all they can to draw in others; and to preserve youth from falling into such bad company is this exhortation given in this tender, affectionate, and moving manner…
– Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible
Today, youth have a tougher job. It is not enticement.
Mere teens are put in situations where they have to be able to resist very heavy military-derived techniques that make their options very difficult. It can include threats to kill their mum and dad, or their entire family, if they say no. Just as an example.
That’s how these gangs are being built.
According to my understanding, if they try to get up and walk out of a heavy meeting with the bigger gang thugs, with heavy persuasion being applied, “they run them over”.
We need to pay close attention to battered bodies, dead or still alive, where they might have been run over. Even if the body is removed, say to a reserve, and made to look as though something else happened, very possibly it was a gang recruitment meeting that went wrong.
That includes paying attention to pathologists and other officials who provide strong testimony in not-run-over directions, in disagreement with others.
