David Fisher wrote a scurrilous article about Judith Collins on Saturday. In that story he used a photograph obtained without the consent of the family, taken at David Wong-Tung’s mother’s funeral. That photo was supplied by Clinton Neville Bowerman.
At the time Fisher defended the use of the photograph and the story with numerous tweets. In one tweet he said that this was “how a real newspaper works”. That “real newspaper” though seems to have taken down the photo that they emblazoned all over their website on Saturday…perhaps they aren’t too happy with the sleazy and underhand way with which their top “investigative” reporter obtained that photo.
They probably will be even less happy when they read the news being plastered all over other news sites about Fisher’s source.
NBR yesterday broke the story that Clinton Neville Bowerman is in a spot of bother, again for photographs or video obtained in a dubious manner.
Now I am not one to defend Peter Goodfellow in other matters, everyone knows that, but in this case I think he is being subjected to quite crazy and unhinged behaviour from Bowerman.
Matt Nippert also posted a story at Stuff: Â
National Party president Peter Goodfellow has complained of being subjected to covert video surveillance.
The complaint, heard before the Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority, alleges private investigator Clinton Bowerman hid a video camera to film him meeting his estranged wife Libby Black.
Bowerman told the authority he had been working for Black as both a personal guard and private investigator since March 2009.
Lawyers acting for Goodfellow told the authority the filming occurred during a meeting at an upmarket Orakei address on August 11 last year, and was revealed when the National Party president noticed something amiss.
“He noticed something under a beanie hat. He lifted it up, and under it was a camera which had been on for an hour and seven minutes,” the lawyer said.
Under questioning by authority member Roger Gill, Bowerman conceded the filming was covert but insisted he had “implied consent” from Black to undertake the surveillance.
“She never said that she didn’t consent to the filming,” he said.
Bowerman’s claim contrasted with evidence submitted by Goodfellow’s lawyers that Black, when the camera was discovered, denied knowing anything about the filming.
So now we know…David Fisher’s main source for the beat up over Judith Collins is a real scumbag, par for the course from the NZ Herald.
One wonders if Bowerman arranged that as cover for his rather sleazy, stalker like behaviour in respect of Peter Goodfellow.
