Incomplete? More like failed

Yesterday I blogged about deadbeat degrees and the deadbeat jobs you get as a result…turns out that a “incomplete” BA gets you a job as an MP.

But it was pointed out to me today that you’d have to be a little desperate to claim a failed BA as a qualification … in fact I wasn’t aware the university would hand out an incomplete BA as a qualification.

The dishonesty of Labour politicians astonishes me.

The degree isn’t “incomplete”…at the very least it is DNF.

The more accurate real life explanation is she failed. The only way failure can be a win is with a fail video:

  • Big Bruv

Gee!, what a busy life. Did I miss the part where she admits being a junkie?

  • blokeintakapuna

By Fentons logic then, since we mostly all reside in NZ, I’ll lay claim to walking the length and breadth of NZ – incomplete though, but not because I have failed at it… I’m just yet to start. Yeah Right.

You’d have to be special kind of stupid or especially desperate to even admit you weren’t able to complete even a BA. So her “education” then amounts to what she’s learnt within the ideas vacuum that is Labour Party Conferences? No wonder the mangy bint looks like she’s sucked limes all day…

Imagine her “value proposition” to the commercial world with a pedigree like that? No wonder only having Labour or Mana to work with has been her only option. She could always ask Mr President of the BSC if he needed nothing polished or cleaned?

At least since her fellows in Labours coven made prostitution legal she could always revert to that once she’s finished failing in politics. She might have something to offer society… Ohh hang on… Well at least she’d spend more time with Trev and be able to discuss party strategy… Whilst fucking that up too no doubt…

  • blokeintakapuna

Any idea on how far into this Degree she had progressed?

I mean there’s a huge difference between a few papers short of completion, but its another if she only enrolled, say to get a free laptop on the tax payer but didn’t do a single paper. Be very telling to know that info?

    • Mostly_Harmless

It doesn’t matter – you either have a degree or you don’t. She doesn’t.

  • Fred

Thanks for photo WO, I always thought Darien was a bloke!

    • tarkwin

Too close to call – could go either way. Looks like a badly made up cross dresser to me.

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/ Petal

You may also want to check out Steve Chadwick then!

      • cows4me

Is Chadwick even human Petal, more like a successful effort in genetically engineering a dribbling, bullshitting, socialist skank.

        • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/ Petal

Sometimes I wish you would be more clear on what you’re trying to say. It’s getting quite tedious to read between the lines ;)

  • tarkwin

We used to call this doing a Shadbolt. I think it took Tim four years to get nine units of a B.A. Mind you he probably had a lot more fun than that haggis.

  • peterwn

Probably spent too much time on student politics. Wondered if she could not be bothered completing the degree or got ‘locked out’ for too many failures.

  • Cadwallader

I bet she failed the staff entrance test at the Mad Butcher’s.

  • Cadwallader

The certifciate from Waikato University will represent a long session of whinging and haka practice……

  • Phar Lap

The taxpayer pays her $200K per year.Wonder what she would have got if she was qualified.Seems looking at her she has qualified at least a long time ago for a living wage.

  • Troy

This bitch is simply putting BA up on her profile to try and send a message that she has some form of academic qualification. Really, she should put PhD in bludging. She’s well versed at that and encouraging others to bludge off the state. The ugly frontbum has become so much of an expert in bludgology that her supporters think its the right thing to do if you just don’t feel like working.

  • Mr Sackunkrak

Lefties do this to feel better about themselves, and the longer the list the more important they think they are. Witness that “Attendee at such’n’such conference”.

  • BJ

1 paper completed or all but one completed? Only just started or nearly finished? At least she was honest enough to put ‘incomplete’

  • Apolonia

She left out her entry into ” NZ’s next top model”

  • http://twitter.com/Orcs2Elves Monique Angel

Fuckin A. Looks like I’m qualified to get a real job. I’ve got a Ba (incomplete) too but I became a housewife.

    • Jimmie

At least being a house wife contributes something useful to society – Fenton and her ilk in Parliament? Hmm more like parasites than useful.

      • unsol

Oh I dont know about that…..some housewives are parasites too (errm current company incl MA excluded!) :)

    • Lofty

Goodoh MA…could you cook me some eggs please? ;-)

  • Owl

This is disgraceful – I trained for the Olympics 100M Hurdles – but was useless – do I put down “trained for the Olympics?” or “Olympic trained”?
Seriously this is so bad and a completed miss-represntation

    Where do I write too?

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/ Petal

You’re onto something here. I once came 2nd to the world champion in a race. He happened to live in my town, and a random draw in the heats put me up against him (lucky me, right? heh), and 4 years later he was world champion.

So, I came 2nd to the world champion.

Near enough for a Labour CV, anyway.

      • Cadwallader

I failed in my attempt to climb Mt Everest…haven’t set out yet….

        • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz/ Petal

I summited Everest last year. I kid you not. Stood right on top of it. Photos to prove it.

The only thing I have left to do is convince New Zealand Geographic Board to change the name from Mt Patriarch to Mt Everest, but that’s just a little bit of silly paperwork.

    • Bunswalla

I see where you went wrong, Owl, you stopped after only 100m and all your competitors ran the extra 10m of the event. Mate, you couldda been a contender!

  • Brian of Mt Wellington

Was she one of these ones that goes to varsity just to eat their lunch and not have to get a job in the workforce and then leave when you can no longer keep up the charade.

  • island time

And then there is the LTCL from Trinity College – Isn’t Trinity a music college. What relevance does that have to anything?

  • Phar Lap

Think she is a failed dog, just wait until the Charlie Shovel replacement turns up.You aint seen nothing yet.Seems she has been masquerading as a wharfie,or is it moonlighting.

    • Dave

Phar Lap, i dont disagree, but at least a wharfie has done at least a few days hard graft in their lives. Or should their VC reflect, partial completion of a days work on the wharf.

  • Ronnie Chow

    I didn’t see ‘ Gained 25 kilos’ on that resume .

  • blokeintakapuna

Trainee 747 pilot here too… Well, I will be once I start taking flying lessons… But I have started with a few orientations of the cattle pen for a few hours getting to Aussie.

Bet there’s a few other trainee 747 pilots out there too…

  • unsol

I’m all for picking on Labour, but this seems a fairly desperate post to try & find fault for the sake of it…..the fact that Fenton is left wing should be fault enough; dropping out of uni is irrelevant & at least she got her UE & was able to enter (assuming she has listed things in their chronological order).

MPs dont need tertiary qualifications, but they do need life & work experience…….preferably something that is not merely teaching…..or mining.

But if you are being picky then at least acknowledge Fenton has got a qualification in something – music. She has an LTCL from Trinity College which means she must be a pretty damn good musician…

And since we’re delving into profiles…..is John Banks qualified in anything other than the pursuit of his own ego? At least Rodney Hide had a relevant degree of sorts…..zoology!

Interestingly that young leftie we know as chippie has a degree in criminology……who would have thought he had an IQ higher than that of a brick; anyone else wonder how on earth he could choose to be in the Labour party after having studied criminal behaviour in NZ?

    • Agent BallSack

      • GeorgeRomero

She’s drama queen , nothing more nothing less

    • starboard

“yaaaawn “…sorry, did you say something unsold ?

    • Mostly_Harmless

No-one’s picking on her for dropping out of uni – we’re mocking her for thinking an incomplete degree is something worth putting on her CV.

  • Toddie

Back in my day you needed to have the LTCL or equivalent just to get in to do music at Varsity – its run here in NZ but invented by the poms so saying London after it is way bogus. A money spinner for local music teachers of correct music (sic). Something you would have knocked off by sixth form – Us rockers would run a mile. – (Two units of a music degree – you can call me Doctor OK – ha ha.)

  • la la land

This just effs me off – i have 2 degrees and worked bloody hard for both of them and then dickheads like this try and mis-represent their qualifications. A BA is not a BA until you have graduated – doesnt matter if you have completed 1, 10 or 50 papers if you havent done the requisite courses at all levels you DONT HAVE A BA.

  • surfisup

I thought about doing a degree in brain surgery — does that mean I can claim I have a doctorate (incomplete)?

  • Mr_Blobby

Now come on be fair she graduated from terrace end primary. Or was that ring terrace.

  • RightOfGenghis

…and herewith another pearl from the The New Zealand Herald’s Kevin Taylor who described Fenton as having the “most varied CV of any newcomer to Parliament”,

Now I don’t want to be rude but is this male or female? It’s not clear from the pic and the name is no help

Of more interest however is he/she spent formative years in this country’s cultural paradise

  • Sarrs

If I added up the spare papers I had to take at Uni to become a CA but didn’t need in order to matriculate my BCom I also have an incomplete BA. That’s going on the LinkedIn profile!

  • Mostly_Harmless

With qualifications like that, Labour is lucky to have her – I’m sure she’d have all sorts of options in the real world.

  • Bart67

I guess BA means Bugger All!

    • http://www.whaleoil.co.nz Whaleoil

I guess Darien has 3 fifths of 5 eighths of bugger all then

  • 4077th

I have always said that a BA is nothing more than a degree in general knowledge. It’s a copout degree for those who have sweet fuck all to offer and prefer to stay at uni for the social life.

  • starboard

she has so got a BA…Big arse..and I bet it smells.

  • Rodger T

Awesome ,I`m going to add School Cert (incomplete) ,UE (never tried) to my CV.

  • le sphincter

generally those from poorer backgrounds end up leaving university without graduating. meanwhile people like Rodney Hide were able to complete his degree from Lincoln only by being what used to be known as a ‘professional student’, ie still there after six years.
That happens when your family owns a rural trucking firm- which under the regulations at the time you had to have hard to get licenses to operate.

    • unsol

“generally those from poorer backgrounds end up leaving university without graduating”

I’m not sure how that is plausible seeing as all we here about is poor people being hard done by the education system….if they struggle to finish school I am not sure how they would get UE. Unless you are talking about ‘mature’ DPB students….such as Paula Bennett?

Further, UK research indicates 1 in 7 people drop out of uni yet you will find that 1 in 7 people are not from poor backgrounds….

  • mjg6

I think that many have missed something equally as good further down :

ICFTU – First Substitute, Asia Pacific Region Women’s Committee

So again, not actually on the Committee – people didn’t think enough to put her on, but if anyone else dies, she would be on the Committee……
