WhaleTech: What would you give up to get a Smartphone that lasts a week on one charge?

If you are happy to give up your colour display, you’ll be able to get an Android Smartphone that will last a week on a single charge.

In what looks like something from the Palm Pilot days, the same tech that’s driving the latest Kindle displays will offer the most readable and sharp text, but, only in shades of grey.

And what if you want both a long battery life and a colour display?  Then perhaps a phone line this would work for you

The YotaPhone from Russia packs two 4.3-inch displays: an LCD and an E-ink display. All notifications and messages will be displayed on the E-ink display so that you do not have to flick on your LCD to read every mundane notification. The 4.3-inch 720p display will be placed in the front while the 200dpi E-ink one will take up the rear.

Crazy?  Or will this fit a niche?

As an owner of three different generation Kindles I have the following to say.
Battery life is important to me. I want colour for the covers of my books when I view them but am very happy with black and white for all my actual reading. The Kindle Paperwhite has a very white background which is not backlit.
The perfect Kindle ( which doesn’t exist yet ) will have colour for the covers and black and white for the rest. If I had a smartphone I would be the same. Battery life makes my life simpler. Colour is not necessary for most reading.
