A ton of the comments pissed me off to be honest in the racist one…

    • Michael

It appears to me that the website takes anything it doesn’t deem “liberal” and brands it as racist. What a bigot. So, wanting lower taxes – racist. Wanting welfare reform – racist. Opposing anything Obama does – racist…

    • James Howlett

It would appear I didn’t research this site quite thoroughly enough.

    • andrew carrot

Redskins, Aztecs (US sports teams), Maori Battalion, Maori ABs are all racist names according to this bigot.

  • Cremster

Hmm, the photo is Albert Einstein at around the age of 20 or so I think. Einstein was schooled in German before learning English. The Germans in the early 20th century (or at least the Nazis) would probably have scored highly on the racism test. A couple of years ago there was a war of words between Fox and Jon Stewart (Daily Show) over Fox’s overuse of the term ‘Nazis’.

Can’t tie in the Cuba-Florida swim though.

    • James Howlett

Can’t fault the effort Cremster but the photo is not Einstein.

    • Harvey Wilson

The swimmer was a black German who despised Asian foxes and believed that relativity was relative

  • P1LL

The photo is Charles I of Austria or Charles IV of Hungary & Grand Duke of the Voivodship of Serbia.
Albert Einstein’s last nurse was a Serbian

    • James Howlett

Nice detective work on the photo P1LL. I’m tempted to give this one to you but I’m being pedantic and the connection is not to this trivia piece.

      • P1LL

        Bugger !
        I thought I had nailed it .

      • Bunswalla

I was sure that photo was the Nawab of Pataudi who played cricket for both India and England but then I realised none of the trivia items was remotely connected to that theory in any way. Just sayin.

    • BR

      He looks like Mr Bean

      Bill

  • Nechtan

This has me beat. The only thing I have is that Charles 1 married Zita of Bourban-Parma the 17th child of of Robert 1st. 17 episodes and 17 children????

The official language of Austria is German.

    • Nechtan

Wood for the trees stuff. Feeling a bit silly.

Steady on. I’m guessing. It’ll be up to James to tell us if I picked the right one here.

  • James Howlett

Good efforts all but we didn’t quite get there. Picture is Charles I of Austria / IV of Hungary among various other titles – that is to say the last ruler of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. World War One resulted in the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (and Charles’ position) in much the same way it resulted in the end of the widespread popularity of German in the US as outlined in item 3 above.
