Muslim scholars teach that Muslims should generally be truthful to each other, unless the purpose of lying is to “smooth over differences.”
There are several forms of lying to non-believers that are permitted under certain circumstances, the best known being taqiyya. These circumstances are typically those that advance the cause of Islam – in some cases by gaining the trust of non-believers in order to draw out their vulnerability and defeat them.
Some of us are better liars than others and Muslims are no different. The following examples of Muslims practising taqiyya in order to “smooth over differences” or to gain the sympathy of non-Muslims in order to defeat them were unsuccessful for one of the following four reasons:
- The message wasn’t consistent with his actions and words.
- The person he was trying to con was an undercover agent.
- A professional journalist asked the right questions and did some research
- There was a witness or camera present when the ” alleged “incident happened.
1.The message wasn’t consistent with his actions and words.
2.The person he was trying to con was an undercover agent.
Muhammad Salah said he was an innocent citizen, a car dealer, a family man, father of five who had been treated terribly by both the Israelis and the Americans but Rita Katz, a woman who went undercover to infiltrate the radical Islamic groups operating in America suspected the truth and did some research. Her research revealed that this frail, innocent-looking man was in fact, the leader of the worldwide military wing of Hamas, a brutal terrorist organization.
3.A professional journalist asked the right questions and did some research
Fiyaz Mughal was very successful at getting publicity for his claims of multiple anti-Muslim hate crimes in the UK after the savage murder of Drummer Lee Rigby by two Muslim extremists. In his interviews, he claimed in the week after Woolwich that there had been 212 anti-Muslim hate attacks. He was so effective that audiences started questioning who was actually the victim, the murdered soldier or the UK Muslims. The press published what he said as gospel.
The Telegraph’s Andrew Gilligan uncovered the truth about Fiyaz Mughal.Only 17 cases (8 %) involved individuals being physically targeted.Six people had things thrown at them and most of the other 11 cases were attempts to pull off the hijab or other items of Islamic dress.Without in any way denying the distress caused by such attacks these are not what most people would have imagined when they were told that there had been 212 anti-Muslim hate attacks.
4.There was a witness or camera present when the ” alleged “incident happened.
The judge who sentenced this Muslim woman called her taqiyya malicious and ruthless. She is not the first Muslim woman to try to cost someone their job with a baseless accusation of racism. There was also the case of the Muslim woman who claimed an air hostess had been racist towards her because she had not been given a diet coke.
