Scumbag teachers union shamelessly uses kids to push their agenda [UPDATED]

The NZEI is agitating again, using children to push their agenda.

That is the tweet the NZEI is pushing.

Let’ start with the content. I really can’t believe that what the NZEI is claiming is that this was provided to them by a concerned mother. How do we know that the mother doesn’t work for the NZEI, the Labour party or an affiliated group of some sort. It is politically loaded and there is no way a 10-year-old and 8-year-old and a 6-year-old could construct a letter like that without parental guidance. So this is the letter of an activist mother.

Secondly, they rave about going to school because of their “great teachers”. Those teachers wouldn’t change if the way they are paid changes, so they’d still be “great teachers”. But here’s the thing…this is being pushed by a teachers union to show that there are great teachers…yet the letter is full of grammatical and spelling mistakes, so the teaching isn’t that flash. Let’s mark it.

How a teacher is paid, or indeed a school will not lead to job losses. There is no way 6,8, and 10-year-old kids present letters like this at school unless told what to say and write by a politically motivated unionised teacher or parent.

Plus it is demonstrably misleading, indeed false in its assertions.

If this is the standard by which the NZEI and parents think is acceptable from “great teachers” then whatever Hekia Parata has planned isn’t going far enough.

Union and the left, in general, think nothing of politicising children to push their agendas.

Perhaps it is time for the government to allow charter schools to take over the running of state schools in their area where they fall way behind the results of the nearest charter school.

UPDATED – We’ve identified who the mother is. She’s an activist and politically motivated.

This is from her Facebook page. It is publicly available. I have edited it because the silly woman using her kids to push an agenda has left the address and the kid’s names on it.

She also makes this statement.

And is pushing Labour party propaganda:

Before anyone attacks me about her kids, she is quite used to using them to push her political agenda. [Original video]

She is also a member of left-wing astroturf organisation Generation Zero. She also issues politically motivated press releases.

So the portrayal by the union of “just a mum” concerned at funding proposals is actually a lie. She is a political activist, pimping Labour propaganda, well used to using her own kids to push the agenda.

  • Huia

You have to start brainwashing the kids and infecting them with the socialist agenda from an early age.

    • Nige.

Funny thing is that kids will be kids. They aren’t as dumb as the would-be teachers of social justice think they are. Even at age 5 they no that 4 – 6 = less than zero

  • D.Dave

Another teacher who needs their registration questioned. I bet they will be up before the disciplinary Board…… waiting, waiting…. nah

  • jaundiced

If I was a parent of kids being schooled in writing this, I’d be down at that school like a shot, demanding that the teachers involved never go near my kids again. This is abuse.

    • George Carter

totally agree, i’d be kicking up a major stink about this. Beyond the main reason of wanting the best for my kids, I keep and eye on my daughters schoolwork for this kind of influence as well. So far so good but it only takes one unionised teacher to get it going.

    • Nige.

Another example of an entitlest adult not considering the rules of privacy…. The ends justifying the means and all that.

Carrying on, drunk on their own sense of self righteousness with a “I’ll get that bloody Parata for trying to mess up my trough I’ve made for myself.”

  • Keeping Stock

It really is scraping the barrel when unionised teachers exploit 6,8 and 10-year-olds (or any kids for that matter) to do their political bidding. I hope Hekia Parata follows this up with the principal and Board of Trustees of the school from where the “letter” was sent.

  • kloyd0306

    Teachers Union – shabby tactics.

  • XCIA

This shameless piece of propaganda contrived by manipulative people in control of children shows that they have a very, very weak argument for their cause.

  • Second time around

Are the spelling errors added (in the parent’s hand writing?) to make the letter look authentic? We had classes of 40 and more when I was in primary school. We learned to spell correctly. Bring back large class sizes as the smaller classes are not teaching these kids how to spell.

    • Ross

Yes what’s with the different hand writing!? This is peculiar…

  • LesleyNZ

Pretty obvious that the mother has had a big influence on the content. Seeing there are mistakes maybe it was a dictation exercise. What would a 6, 8 and 10 year old know about the concept of a Global Budget to do with education?

  • oldmanNZ

I wonder how many teachers, principal are proud to be a member of this unions,
The lies and propaganda, and using kids.

    I wouldn’t.

  • BigNose

Yeah, my daughter came back from primary school several years ago spouting on about teachers pay and conditions – aged 6 I ask you! Turns out her teacher was a militant unionist organising stop work protests, the principal was a card carrying member of the Labour party, and the chair of the board of trustees was Chris Carter’s lawyer. The school newsletters were routinely binned by the majority of parents because they contained pro-Labour propaganda on a regular basis. Education has become very left wing dominated in the same way as our media has.

    • BigDes

Yeah, I am a BOT chair, We have a new principal who had to be informed the newsletter wasn’t for propaganda. I ‘suggested’ some edits.

  • Ross

How would you feel if your child came home from school espousing the benefits of hinduism, veganism, or communism? Is socialism any different?

    • Tiger

      Or muslimism?

  • JEL51

Oh dear, that mother is so undermining her role & responsibilities. She doesn’t realize that it is the teachers’ and her job to help those kids learn ‘how’ to think, not ‘what’ to think. Unfortunately they will grow to become perfect at jumping-onto-the-nearest-barrow. That’s sad in it is just so limiting.

  • R&BAvenger

I went to school from 1969 until 1980. Apart from the occasional announcement that there would be a teacher only day, or that they were having a stop-work meeting (during my high school years 1977-1980) there was no mention at all about the UnIon, policies or anything about whatever they might agree or disagree with the government of the day on. Teachers focused on teaching their subject and on the whole, they did a pretty good job of it, all pre-internet.

  • Alan Beresford B’Stard

I see her FB avatar is a muppet, well at least she got that right.

  • metalnwood

At my kids school I have seen good teachers and mediocre.

Perhaps in some schools she is right, maybe in some instances there would be less teachers and larger classrooms but I can say this. If we had all great teachers with classrooms of 30 we would be better off than having sizes of 25 and one of the classes has the teacher that gave up 10 years ago, spouts the curriculum and coasts through the year with unenthused kids.

  • Sid_Holland

The brainwashing of kids or attributing ghost-written propaganda to them is a well known and well-used ploy in the activists play book. Expecting rational, well adjusted adults to believe this rubbish just proves how dim these SJWs truly are.

  • JLS

Roll on charter schools and vouchers. Competition would relegate the poor schools and teachers to history in a short number of years.

    • Isherman

Imagine the outrage from teacher unions if the parents of Charter School pupils were getting their kids to write letters asking for more money.

  • MrHippo

“there is no way a 10-year-old and 8-year-old and a 6-year-old could construct a letter like that without parental guidance”. Spot on there. With similarly aged children in the current school system I can confirm that the three-Rs are not in vogue, and hence parental guidance would most certainly be required.

  • Sally

If these 3 children enjoy school and like doing lots of cool stuff maybe they should be writing to the unions asking them to stop making the teachers go to compulsory stop work meetings and talking about striking.

    • BigDes

Legally the school must be open for instruction, this is why there is also 2 different meetings organised in one area. The unions can’t take all the staff out of school at once. You just have to enforce it..

  • Quinton Hogg

On the generation zero subject how can she be a member?
I just did a search of the Societies and Trusts Register that the Companies Office maintains (out of curiosity of course) and that showed that Generation Zero Incorporated was removed from the register on 2 May 2016.
In other words it has been struck off.
Looks like those who make up Generation Zero are good talking about other peoples business but forget about their own.

  • Mikhail Coleman

Get the union scum out of education now

  • Whitey

Apparently the list of “cool things” they learn at school doesn’t include spelling. Here’s a thought: maybe if the NZEI’s members spent more time doing their job and teaching kids basic literacy, the Minister might not want to make any changes.

  • Keyser Soze

Sounds like dirty politics to me. I wonder when Hager’s exposé will be out?

  • WBC

She is most likely one of those parents who take their children along to protests. If not child abuse it is at the very least manipulation of someone too young to understand. A very bad parent.

  • Ringo

I hope this is just the minority of our teachers. They have a lot of power with their unions and using our kids to push their own extremely bias agendas is just immoral .The useless teachers and they know who they are can hide and cruz along getting paid as much money as the good teachers.

  • LovetoTeach

This kind of stuff really grinds my gears. If any of my teachers did this they wouldn’t like my reaction

  • Dumrse

Schools = social welfare for teachers.
