You’ll have to forgive me, but apparently someone in parliament is gay.
Yes, exactly. Who cares?
The reason I’m even writing this is because I’m annoyed.
So I get this phone call from another journalist to tell me that a National MP is being hunted down by a journalist. And not in a professional way.
Apparently the journalist is going to out the MP as gay for some kind of revenge.
You might ask, “Why?”
Apparently, the journalist is taking it up the bum from one of the MPs ex-es.
So now this gay journalist has this ‘exclusive’ on outing a national MP that hasn’t been trading on being gay. Even though anyone who spends 4 minutes with him knows this.
Anyone with gaydar can look at him and see it.
But what’s the bloody point of this?
People are getting upset. Talking about “coming out” on TV to prevent the journalist from… doing WHAT exactly?
This is handbags at dawn and it’s ugly.
The gayness of the journalist is irrelevant. The gayness of the MP is irrelevant. Both have done their jobs because and despite of being gay.
But the journalist is now threatening to ‘expose’ the MP.
This sort of shabby blackmailing over who someone prefers to sleep with is the sort of thing Muldoon used to get up to.
This isn’t 1976, it is 2016 and this sort of behaviour has no place in New Zealand politics. It also proves once again that our media are bottom feeding scumbags… literally.
And don’t use your employer’s resources for your personal vendettas to try and destroy an ex-love interest of your current boyfriend.
I mean… how gay can you get?
