cocksmoker

Paul Little should stick to kneeling on carpet

Paul Little has written a piece about how we must all build up and not out. As is typical of the inner city dwelling liberal elite he passes opinion on where other people live and declares that we are all tacky.

The thought of extending Auckland, a city that has never placed any importance on the appearance of its built environment, to consume more open land is short-sighted. Do we really want another Albany or Dannemora with their cut-and-paste rows of identical mini-mansions showing all the design sense of a North Korean retirement home?

Oh yeah? I like living out here…the parks, walking trails, creeks, dams, bird life…I love it, it’s great and there aren’t any cocksmokers like Paul Little out here. He clearly has never been out here, otherwise he wouldn’t make such inane statements.¬† Read more »

DotCon lies and lies some more

In Fishy’s article this morning, Dotcon drops the clanger that he was in the throes of launching an IPO for his quasi song-swap service.

DotCom - Guilty

That Fishy could let this pass without mentioning some pretty obvious questions suggests that Fishy is wilfully blind to Dotcon’s crooked past.

For example:

Does Dotcon seriously expect to issue a prospectus in New Zealand for a sharemarket listed company when he has been convicted for insider trading/pump and dump stock frauds in the past? (The Letsbuyit.com affair)

When Kim Schmitz was convicted in 2002 of manipulating shares in online retailer LetsBuyIt.com, it marked the end of Germany’s biggest insider-trading case ever and exposed just how easy it was to profit at other investors’ expense. The self-styled Internet entrepreneur’s previous conviction for computer fraud didn’t stop him from announcing a spurious rescue effort for the online retailer that temporarily goosed the stock — and gave him the chance to sell his shares at a profit of $1.5 million. Worse, when it came time for sentencing, Schmitz got a slap on the wrist: a 20-month suspended sentence after five months in jail awaiting trial.

Does Dotcon serious expect to get the FMA blessing for such a prospectus when he was found guilty and convicted of hacking?¬† Read more »

David Fisher’s Fat Fetish continues to fester

Kim Dotcon’s staff reporter, David Fisher, has crawled right up Dotcom’s massive rectal crevice this week in the Herald.

He really does seem to have a man-crush on the fat German. He reckons Dotcom is coming out fighting:

Dotcom comes out fighting –¬†Fortune stripped, company crushed and freedom denied – Kim Dotcom admits to being angry and says he is just getting started on getting even.

Coming out fighting…getting even…sounds like Kimmy the fat German is making a play for The Earthquake’s replacement in WWE.¬† Read more »

Bad Bastard gets his Beans

Good to see bad bastards who do this sort of thing to defraud other business people get their beans. The pity is he only got home detention.

A fallen property hotshot wants to move on after escaping a prison sentence for faking documents to try to save his friend from bankruptcy.

Ralph Anthony Vuletic, 31, was sentenced to nine months’ home detention when he appeared in the High Court at Auckland yesterday.

He was facing Serious Fraud Office (SFO) charges after faking a debt to help friend and co-accused Marcus Friedlander avoid bankruptcy and dodge $10 million worth of bills from creditors nine years ago.

Vuletic had earlier pleaded guilty to using a document to defraud, attempting to pervert the course of justice and forging a document.

Friedlander is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to counts of making forged documents, three of using a document for a pecuniary advantage and two of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

If you know of other people who have falsified sale and purchase agreements, debts, creditors statements and the like then please let me know on the tipline and I will investigate. There is a lot of dodgy activities out there perpetrated by people seeking to avoid bankruptcy or scrutiny of their nefarious and underhanded dealings. Often they work in conjunction with equally dodgy liquidators. They need the disinfectant of sunlight.

They should be outed, prosecuted and put in jail.

An email from a photographer

On the day after my mother died I received this email:

 Sat, Sep 29, 2012 at 6:43 PM

From:John Chapman <[email protected]>
To: Cameron Slater
Cc: Rob Webber <[email protected]>, John Chapman <[email protected]>

Dear Mr Slater,

It has been drawn to my attention that you have published one of my images from the June 2012 TVNZ7 Funeral March on your Whale oil blog. The picture in question shows Labour MP Clare Curran in conversation with Kim Dotcom. My permission was not sought for publication nor a fee paid. As the author and copyright holder of the image I reserve the right to both charge a fee for usage and to decide how and when that image is used.

Accordingly I enclose an invoice for breach of my copyright and a screenshot taken today 29.09.12 demonstrating usage by you. In addition I must insist that the image is taken down from your website http://www.whaleoil.co.nz within 24 hour of receiving this email and that no further usage of my copyright material takes place. Failure to do so will result in an increased fee. A failure to settle the amount owing within 30 days will result in court action to recover the amount owing plus any costs incurred in enforcing collection.

Regards,

John Chapman

I was in no mood that day to brook nonsense so basically told him to get stuffed. It is fair to say that I didn’t cover myself in glory with my reply. Then yesterday I received another email.

14.10.12

Dear Mr Slater,

Thank you for your response dated 29.09.12. I am sorry to hear of you loss – not being a reader of your blog nor one of your friends on Facebook I was unaware of your mother’s passing. Not wishing to intrude on your grief further I felt it appropriate to leave the matter rest for two weeks so as not bring further distraction in what must be a very difficult time for you. That said you will recall from my previous correspondence, I requested that you take down the image in question within 24 hours. You responded by saying you would replace it with, my and I quote “fuckwitted letter.” That does not appear to have happened and as you will see from the enclosed screenshot the image is still up on your Whaleoil site. I also indicated that further charges would be made if the image was not taken down. Accordingly I’m enclosing an invoice for a further $250.00 to cover the cost of additional reproduction fees since the 29.09.12.

Once again as copyright holder I must insist the image is taken down within 24 hours. Should you again fail to do so I will be issuing a further invoice for reproduction fees for the image in question. I stated in my earlier correspondence that I would be taking proceedings for recovery should settlement not be forthcoming within 30 days. That period now has less than 14 days to run. Should you choose not to settle I will make good my notice of action.

Lastly, in your previous correspondence you made a number of threats to my person which I have put down to your grief over your mother’s passing. However any further threats of violence from you will be reported to the police as a matter of course. As you may be aware I have been a photojournalist now for over 35 years and have found myself covering conflicts in places such as Gaza, Lebanon and Iraq. As you can imagine given my past experiences, being called an “unctuous twat” isn’t going to dissuade me from pursuing the theft of my images in the courts should it prove necessary..

Regards,

John Chapman

Now this is the same John Chapman who covers his Facebook page in all manner of left wing cant, and various other left wing causes, and is friends with Labour and Green MPs. His is demonstrably leftwing in attitude and leftwing in belief. ¬†He is friends with David Cunliffe, Cathy Casey, the flea lawyer from the Wairarapa and former Labour candidate Michael Bott, friends also with Lynn Prentice…make no mistake this is politically motivated and coincides with a personal approach from an MP the same day which is very coincidental.

I did point out to Mr John Chapman that being an abusive and aggressive arse wasn’t a winning proposition. Considering his friends though there is little doubt that is just a¬†political¬†ploy.

However, in the interests of settling this matter I am prepared to enter into a revenue sharing proposition. $250 seems a bit over the top, but I understand that he is concerned that I may be making money off of his photography while he misses out.

This image was originally published in July 2012 on my blog. In the interests of transparency here is a screenshot from my stats package, showing the views of that post.

As you can see a total of 929 views of the post have been made. In July there were 673,998 views of my blog and I also was paid $251.31 from Adsense. Again in the interests of transparency I show the screenshot from Adsense below:

Therefore a “view” in July, which is when most people viewed the post, is worth $0.000372.

The 929 total views on that post are worth $0.3463. It seems fair though to pass on all the revenue from the views of the post since it relied on Mr John Chapman’s work…all be it in a satirical and arguably fair use manner.

It also seems fair to round up too, so I will pay the entire revenue of $0.35 to Mr John Chapman.

I don’t really want to waste $0.70 on a stamp, plus I can’t find my cheque book, so I have paid Mr John Chapman direct. That should settle things. NFWAB.

An Apology

Yesterday I blogged about some pretty awful comments from Beau Murrah, on that post which ended up with 139 comment, some from him and his pals. I also had extensive email correspondence with him that showed an arrogance and lack of remorse that was breath-taking.

So when I received this email in the early hours of the morning I was surprised to say the least. I am dis-inclined to removed the original post, simply because of the nature of the comments yesterday and the correspondence. I am pleased he has made a donation. I will take advice on whether or not the original post should remain.

When I say NFWAB I really, really mean it.

From: Beau Murrah

To Cam Slater

Cameron,

I have come to realise you are correct. My comments alluding to suicide were and are¬†unacceptable to be said to anyone including yourself. I should know better. I don’t want to troll at all and most definitely not in such a manner ever again. I have just donated $200 of my own money to the Mental Health Foundation of NZ as some kind of atonement.

Regarding mental health I have also realised that this whole episode and perhaps a significant part of my online¬†behaviour in recent times has not been good for it.¬†I thought I was some ‘hilarious troll’ for a moment, bulletproof. I felt like it.

Somehow in my mind I have gotten this attitude that just because I might severely disagree with some persons political views or character it somehow makes it ‘justified’ to troll them in such a way on the internet as if it is somehow a different moral universe. Its unhealthy and the feeling doesn’t last. I didn’t sleep well tonight and ended up having an argument with my girlfriend who is very supportive of me, whom I never really argue with generally. I don’t want to have this happen again.

Now for my own mental health I am going to ask something of you. I am going to ask you to please remove your blog post about me. This is probably quite rare for you to ever do for anyone. All I can suggest is that despite the large comment feedback compared to the other more serious topics on your blog about politics the one post about some university student troll won’t really be missed or particularly noticed when its gone.

I can only ask you take my word for it that I have learned from this… I don’t want any part of this trolling business anymore regardless. As much as I tried to hand-wave it off in my mind this google prominence will provide a barrier to employment and some mental health issues of their own. I am asking you to mercy me that.

Regards Beau.

They didn’t get to me with a proper receipt yet but I guess well I can only also ask you take my word for the donation:

UPDATE: Commenters have asked that now Beau Murrah has apologised¬†for his offensive comments that I should remove the original post. However, as I believe in context, removing this post really isn’t an option as it would remove context. To remove it would only leave an apology hanging without the context in which it was given. That could lead to further injustice as people could assume that something far worse was said.

Therefore after spending a day thinking about it I have decided to leave the original post in place, but have added an explanation similar to this so that full context of the situation can be understood.

As one of my commenters has noted I am an advocate of owning your own shit. I don’t hide my past posts, even though some of them are terribly embarrassing and re-reading them is sometimes just awful, the fact is that I wrote those and I should own what I did and said int he past. This is one of those situations that should serve as an example to all.

All about Beau Murrah

UPDATE: Beau Murrah has now¬†apologised¬†for his offensive comments. However, as I believe in context, removing this post really isn’t an option as it would remove context. To remove it would only leave an apology hanging without the context in which it was given. That could lead to further injustice as people could assume that something far worse was said.

Yesterday I posted a quiz on Facebook that works out where in the US political spectrum you sit. That attracted a number of comments mostly about politics. Then out of the blue this comment was left by someone called Beau Murrah:

There were no trolling comments before that comment, but what galled me was his calling for me to consider “pulling a Charlotte Dawson”.

For those who aren’t aware, last week, after constant¬†harassment¬†on Twitter my friend Charlotte Dawson made an attempt on her own life.

Yesterday was also World Suicide Prevention Day.

So on Suicide Prevention day and just a day after I was host on The Nutters Club dealing with tough mental health issues, I have a random person I have never met encouraging me to kill myself. Lovely.

What is worse is that this person is, according to his LinkedIn profile, was previously employed as a law clerk for [redacted, former employer is innocent party], a prominent ACC specialist lawyer.  [redacted, former employer is innocent party] is prominent in criticising and attacking ACC with numerous quotes in the media from himself.

Beau Murrah says on his LinkedIn profile:

I have a strong interest in Law and Medicine and Public Health Law. I have particular interests in topics such as drug reform, regulation of the pharmaceutical industry, disability law and the use of New Zealand Sign Language as an official language.

I have greatly enjoyed gaining experience in the ACC field as a law clerk for an experienced advocate. I wish to build upon this in the future ideally working in a law and health related field.

Beau Murrah - Turtle molester

Beau Murrah – Turtle Molester

And yet he tells people they should go kill themselves. I’m not sure that he has grasped the sensitive nature of dealing with mental health issues nor ACC with comments to people on their facebook page that they should kill themselves.

Worse still though is his resignation statement from Young NZ First where he states:

Murrah also fired a few parting shots at the NZ First Party, describing a culture of ‚Äúincompetence, bullying, and intimidation‚ÄĚ within the party. ‚ÄúI joined the party because I supported a lot of their economic policy, but when you get in there it‚Äôs an incompetent, shadowy circus.‚ÄĚ

He seems to like this own bullying and intimidation. Evil and corrupt Winston Peters may be but i bet he has never told someone to go and kill themselves…on World Suicide Prevention Day.

When confronted with the appalling nature of wishing someone would kill themselves he then said:

I wasn’t suggesting you make a suicide attempt but I was wondering if you were considering it since I was still under the impression you were a gutless bludger feeding on internet aggravation. I probably would say any/all of these things to your face by the way.

So he wasn’t suggesting making an attempt, but then asks if I am considering it.

Beau Murrah is a nasty piece work and certainly isn’t someone who should be working with sensitive ACC claimants while he holds such contemptable views on suicide and mental health issues.

His actions certainly aren’t the actions of a someone considering their “professionals” as they need to be a fit and proper person. Suggesting someone kills themselves and attacking them for their mental health issues and using terms such as mentally ill dole bludger when you are acting as an ACC advocate really doesn’t make the grade for “fit and proper”.

He gloats though that he “successfully¬†trolled” me. Perhaps he won’t be gloating so much now. I did warn him NFWAB.

Mental health issues like depression, suicide and everything else that goes along with that are hard enough to deal with on a daily basis without cocksmokers like Beau Murrah coming along and having fun trolling.

I am just lucky that I am somewhat more resilient than other people. He needs to learn that sometimes the bully gets a smacking. Dollars to donuts though he claimed he was “fraped“. But sometimes you have to be held to account.

Guy Hallwright’s real crime

ŠĒ• Cactus Kate

Cactus explains that though doing a hit and run is pretty bad, worse is driving a convertible SAAB. Surely even hit and run cocksmokers know they are boat anchors?

Forgetting the in’s and out’s of the case and his likely home detention and financial penalty, Guy Hallwright committed a much larger crime in my view.

While the stereotypical type A cool dude Banker drives one of these:

Hallwright is guilty of being caught driving a SAAB. A convertible SAAB at that.

The shame.
