As I did with all the other political parties I approached the Maori Party for comment on the New Zealand sponsored UN resolution 2334 against Israel. After I received a response from their media spokesperson I e-mailed her the following questions:
A New Zealand photographer and composer. Perry is the creator of Shadows of Shoah, a unique multidisciplinary touring Holocaust exhibition. Perry’s video was originally published on Middle East Voices and its transcript was first published 03/01/17 at The Times of Israel
A “Judenrein” Jerusalem? New Zealand’s Shame
A respected British commentator recently described New Zealand as “a stupid country of no other significance”. She was referencing NZ co-sponsoring UN resolution 2334, which effectively bans Jews from living in certain areas.
I am not convinced that New Zealand is a stupid country but in this matter some of our leaders are surely morally deficient.
First, some background:
Jews have been subject to expulsion and persecution for millennia. In the 1930’s and 40’s, for example, the Germans implemented a policy of Jewish expulsion. Their goal was to make Europe Judenrein* or Judenfrei – free of Jews. Jewish communities, many of which had been resident in their host countries for hundreds of years, were expelled or eliminated. I have a number of Jewish friends who lived through this dark period.
Forbidding Jews to live in a particular area was, of course, antisemitism. And it is a matter of historical record that the Judenrein policy was a step on the road to genocide. Ultimately six million Jews were murdered.
Radio New Zealand had two professors on air this morning, nearly an hour apart giving two separate views on the Islamic hate-speech preacher Shaykh Dr Mohammad Anwar Sahib.
Jim Veitch from Victoria University says it’s OK as it was in the mosque and shouldn’t be considered from a secular viewpoint.
First the NZ Herald hires a bullying journalist who wants to break Farrar’s leg, now they allow anti-Semitism on their Facebook page
We all know that the NZ Herald has hired a columnist who threatened to break David Farrar’s legs for daring to have an opposing view to hers.
David Farrar also posted yesterday about an anti-Semitic comment left on the NZ Herald’s website.
You’d have thought they would remove it, but I just checked and it is still there.
You would think an organisation founded and run by someone called Zuckerberg would be more vigilant, but no, Facebook stands accused of vile anti-Semitism.
Facebook is at the centre of an anti-Semitism row after it emerged that its automatic translation software was spewing out vile, anti-Jewish diatribes.
One post written in German, which criticised neo-Nazis, was wrongly translated to produce a rant about ‘dull hollow, dirty Jews’ who were ‘a disgrace to our country’.
Another post in Hebrew, written by Israel’s Education Minister Naftali Bennett, was twisted by the software to suggest a Holocaust victim was killed by ‘the master race’.
When MailOnline brought the error to Facebook’s attention it apologised and claimed to have solved the problem, but declined to say what had gone wrong.
To read more gabs join Cam and me on Gab. He is @Whaleoil and I am @Spanishbride
Send us a gab letting us know you are a Whaleoiler and we will both follow you back.
I have created a #KiwiPosse on Gab where anyone who is a Kiwi ( they don’t have to be a Whaleoiler ) can join. It is a way to find other Kiwis to communicate with on Gab. I regularly update the list and share it on Gab so that others can follow members of the #KiwiPosse
Invite your friends on twitter, tell your mates on Facebook.
Gab is Twitter for grownups and is well worth a look.
Sheree Trotter (Te Arawa) writes at Shalom.Kiwi:
Davidson has aligned herself with an organisation that is little more than a hate group. Kia Ora Gaza leader, Roger Fowler, has expressed support for a one-state solution (the dismantling of the world’s only Jewish state), has compared Israel to Islamic State, has publicly supported a “third intifada”, and has justified violence against Israeli civilians. This is not an organisation committed to peace and human rights.
For Māori who oppose Kia Ora Gaza’s hatred of Israel, the co-opting of Te Reo Måori for their cause is deeply offensive. Historically, Māori have had strong connections with the Jewish people. Indeed the struggle of the Jews gave inspiration to many of our tipuna, and several indigenous prophetic movements in the 19th century were established on the Jewish model. The return of Jews to their ancient homeland has been an inspiring example for many indigenous peoples. Even though the Jewish people experienced expulsion and dispossession, they never abandoned their hope of return, and a small Jewish remnant kept ahi kaa in the land over many centuries of dispersal. The rebirth of Hebrew has been an inspiration for the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori in Aotearoa.
In my 10am post today I mentioned the Progressive pyramid of victimhood. This post is to explain how to earn victimhood points in order to make your way to the top of it.
The strangest thing about the victimhood pyramid is how it has decreased the value of victimhood points for homosexuals. Homosexual rights are “so yesterday” to the progressive left.Transexuals and the hundreds of different made up genders are now the go-to examples of victimhood. Jews barely rate a mention but Muslims are the new big thing.
Freedom of expression exists in Canada but only for Muslims. This is not the first time that advertisers have refused to run ads that they consider anti-Islamic but have been happy to run ads offensive to non-Muslims. In this latest case, the ad’s purpose was to help Muslim women. Mentioning the reality of honour killing, however, is not allowed because the ad company thinks that the truth is offensive.
In a court hearing scheduled to begin in September, the City of Edmonton will have to justify its silencing of a non-profit group that wants to promote gender equality and protect Canadian women and girls from honour killings.
