The Catholic Church has some pretty strict rules, especially for the clergy. No marriage or relationships, no rooting and no poofters.

You can imagine what happen if you doing all of them can’t you…you’d be a Cardinal for sure.

Cardinal Keith O’Brien had a long-standing physical relationship with one of the men whose complaints about his behaviour sparked his downfall as leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland.

The man left the priesthood in the middle of the last decade but rejoined and is living on the continent in a post the cardinal helped him secure.

The complainant is known to have been in regular telephone contact with Cardinal O’Brien until recently and was a frequent visitor to St Benets, his official residence in Edinburgh’s Morningside.

It is understood the cardinal confessed to the relationship after it was recently revealed there had been several complaints to the Vatican about his sexual behaviour towards priests in the 1980s. In Scotland more information is coming out about the extent of abuses in the clergy where they seem to have been out of control sexually.

Why are the catholics so deluded when it comes to sex?

Roman Catholic priests in Scotland were “out of control sexually” under the leadership of the disgraced Cardinal Keith O’Brien, the Church’s former adviser on child abuse claims.

After at first denying everything, then pretending his problems never existed, just like his Vatican bosses…Cardinal  Keith O’Brien has finally done something the Pope never had the courage to do before skulking off into ‘retirement’…admitted to being a dodgy ratbag.

Cardinal Keith O’Brien, formerly the most senior Roman Catholic cleric in the UK, signalled that he did make homosexual advances towards young men.

He confessed that his “sexual conduct has fallen below the standards expected” and asked for forgiveness from those he had “offended”, as well as the entire Catholic Church and the people of Scotland.

The former Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh – who only a week ago was on course to take part in the election of the next Pope – said he would now withdraw completely from public life.

His admission came as fresh details emerged of the allegations of “inappropriate” behaviour against him by four men – three priests and one former priest.  Read more »

The resignation of Britain’s most senior Roman Catholic clergyman amid allegations of “inappropriate” behaviour with priests has thrown plans for the election of the next Pope into disarray.

Cardinal Keith O’Brien, announced that he would not only be stepping down as Archbishop of Edinburgh and St Andrew’s but would also not take part in the Conclave in Rome next month.

He said that he did not want to become a distraction as the Cardinals prepare to chose a new leader for the world’s 1.2 billion Catholics.  Read more »
