The school that Israel didn't bomb

Remember the fuss the media and jihad-enabler like Bomber made about Israel shelling a UN school. Slight problem. They didn’t nor did they kill anyone at the school. The stories were all lies as you will see below.

From Andrew Bolt.  There is too much detail to edit this story. it is also too important not to tell it.

Every Israeli operation to defend itself has one. And the “bombed school” was the ”Jenin massacre” or the ”bombed ambulance” hoax of Israel’s operation this past month in Gaza.

In early January Israel was once again accused of a horrific war crime – an allegation that ran and ran. Some examples:

From Britain’s The Independent:

Massacre of innocents as UN school is shelled

From The Australian:

THE deaths of 42 people in an Israeli attack at a UN-run school in Gaza overnight has finally forced Barack Obama to break his silence over the conflict…

From The Age:

43 Palestinians in a UN school were killed by Israeli shelling

From Iran:

The UN High Commissioner for Rights has also called for independent investigations into possible war crimes after Israel’s shelling of a UN school compound which killed 42 people

From India:

Israeli tank shells killed more than 40 Palestinians on Tuesday at a UN school where civilians had taken shelter, in carnage likely to boost international pressure on Israel to halt a Gaza offensive.

The key ingredients in this latest “proof’’ of Israeli depravity: 43 dead, school attacked, sheltering civilians massacred. Oh, and with no good cause:

The United Nations on Wednesday denied Israeli army allegations that militants were inside a school in Gaza that was hit the previous day by an Israeli strike, killing at least 42 people.

Now for the facts of that January 6 mortar shelling of the Ibn Rushd Preparatory School for Boys, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency.

Yes, the 43 people are dead, and that is a tragedy, given many were undoubtedly innocent. But the rest of the allegations? False, false and false. Yet again the media has bought anti-Israeli propaganda, as a Toronto Globe and Mail investigation has found:

Physical evidence and interviews with several eyewitnesses, including a teacher who was in the schoolyard at the time of the shelling, make it clear: While a few people were injured from shrapnel landing inside the white-and-blue-walled UNRWA compound, no one in the compound was killed. The 43 people who died in the incident were all outside, on the street, where all three mortar shells landed….

While the killing of 43 civilians on the street may itself be grounds for investigation, it falls short of the act of shooting into a schoolyard crowded with refuge-seekers….
The teacher, who refused to give his name because he said UNRWA had told the staff not to talk to the news media, was adamant: “Inside [the compound] there were 12 injured, but there were no dead.”…

Hazem Balousha, who runs an auto-body shop across the road from the UNRWA school, was down the street, just out of range of the shrapnel, when the three shells hit. He showed a reporter where they landed: one to the right of his shop, one to the left, and one right in front.

UNRWA itself now openly concedes its school was not actually shelled:

John Ging, UNRWA’s operations director in Gaza, acknowledged in an interview this week that all three Israeli mortar shells landed outside the school and that “no one was killed in the school.” … The Israelis are the ones, he said, who got everyone thinking the deaths occurred inside the school.

“Look at my statements,” he said. “I never said anyone was killed in the school. Our officials never made any such allegation.”

But the Globe and Mail recalls an earlier Ging quote:

Speaking from Shifa Hospital in Gaza City as the bodies were being brought in that night, an emotional Mr. Ging did say: “Those in the school were all families seeking refuge. … There’s nowhere safe in Gaza.”

And a World Health Organization report:

On 6 January, 42 people were killed following an attack on a UNRWA school …

And a UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs weekly report:

Israeli shelling directly hit two UNRWA schools [including this one]…

So why did Israel lob those three mortar shells into the street outside the school? As Associated Press reported at the time:

In a statement, the Israeli army said an initial investigation found that “mortar shells were fired from within the school at IDF soldiers. The force responded with mortars at the source of fire. The Hamas cynically uses civilians as human shields.” The army said two Hamas militants — Imad Abu Askar and Hasan Abu Askar — were among the dead.

Two neighborhood residents confirmed the Israeli account, saying a group of militants fired mortars from a street near the school, then fled into a crowd of people in the streets. Israel then opened fire. The residents, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they feared for their safety, said the Abu Askar brothers were known low-level Hamas militants.

“Within” is not right, of course. But it seems the real story is that 43 people, including at least two Hamas militants, were killed when Israel returned fire from Hamas mortars launched from among a crowd in the street.

You might still not like what occured. But it is very, very different to what was so widely alleged, and far more forgivable.

And after the earlier evidence of the media repeating pro-Hamas propaganda and gross exaggerations of the death toll in Gaza, especially among civilians, we need to ask again: how much can we trust the coverage of journalists and welfare groups reporting from territory run by terrorists?

Hamas resumes rocket attacks

You simply cannot trust Hamas. While they sit and make demands against Israel their operatives continue to launch missiles, rockets and mortars against Israel. They simply cannot be trusted.

It seems that for, Hamas, a truce means they can fire away and the evil Jews in their stolen land must not retaliate.

I haven’t seen Bomber call these war crimes.

Hamas stops kids from attending holiday

Hamas continues to hold its iron grip on the Gaza Strip. Today Hamas prevented a group of children from going on a funded holiday.

Why? Well perhaps because the holiday was in Israel, funded by evil Jews, who probably only wanted to eat the children, or at the very least sacrifice them.

Dozens of children from Gaza who were due to enter Israel for a two-week vacation were prevented from leaving the Strip by Hamas officials on Wednesday, Israeli officials said.

Most of the children were orphans whose parents were killed during Operation Cast Lead. The Kibbutz Movement had sponsored the vacation for 47 children between the ages of four and 13.

The children were to be accompanied by five adults from the Strip as well as Arabic-speaking youth movement members from Israel, and were to be hosted in Kafr Kasem, Haifa and Kibbutz Sasa.

“Hamas prevented them from leaving today,” said Maj. Peter Lerner, the spokesman for the IDF Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories.

“Hamas was responsible for letting them get out… The press was waiting at the Erez crossing for them to come. The Kibbutz Movement was waiting for them to come,” Lerner said.

Prime Minister’s Office spokesman Mark Regev had not previously heard about the incident, but told The Jerusalem Post that “Hamas, through its actions, continually demonstrates that the last thing on its mind is the well-being of the civilian population of the Gaza Strip.”

We constantly see that it is Hamas rather than Israel that disrespects human life, disrespects children and in fact uses children as political pawns in their dangerous game of hate against Israel.

IAF Hits Hamas Smuggling Tunnels

One wonders whether Hamas will ever embrace peace. They kill a soldier and Israel hammers their tunnels. When will they learn that Israel will not be bullied.

IAF aircraft have hit a number of Hamas smuggling tunnels on the Southern border of the Gaza Strip. This was in response to the attack against an IDF force in the area of Kissufim on the morning of January 27th, in which one IDF Warrant Officer was killed and three other IDF personnel were wounded, including one severe injury, when Palestinians detonated an explosive device against an IDF force patrolling on the Israeli side of the Gaza Strip security fence.

Yesterday evening, IAF aircraft, using intelligence provided by the ISA, attacked a terror operative in Khan Younes, who was prominent in the organization accountable for the attack in Kissufim.

The IDF sees Hamas as accountable for preserving the peace in Israel’s southern villages and will respond harshly to any attempt of undermining it.

Hamas Terrorists kill Israeli soldier

Hamas terrorists exploded an IED on the border of Israel and Gaza last night killing an IDF soldier and wounding several more. It seems that Hamas doesn’t know or care what a truce is.

Do they think we are stupid?

Pallywood has moved into overdrive ever since the Israeli’s moved out. They are getting creative even if the videos are somewhat stupid.

Hamas is now claiming that the Gaza Zoo, which they booby-trapped, was……uhmmmm….booby-trapped and animals were tortured and shot by the mad dog Israelis.

There is a slight problem with this contention and that is that the Israelis documented by video the booby-trapping of the Zoo some time ago during Operation Cast Lead.

Duh! Talk about an own goal by the Pally propagandists.

Anyway Little Green Footballs has provided us with another fantastic video proving the lies of teh Pallywood special and this video is from their own children televisions show. I think it gives us a good idea as to who killed and tortured the animals. (Caution for cat-lovers here)

Hamas doesn't want peace

Hamas has ordered Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to cease talks with Israel. This shows categorically that Hamas has absolutely no intention of ever wanting peace in the region.

Speaking at a rally in Beirut, Hamdan said his organization welcomed an inter-Palestinian dialogue but linked reconciliation with Fatah to the Palestinian Authority ending peace talks with Israel and backing Hamas’ armed resistance against the Jewish state.

“We say clearly that we welcome a national Palestinian dialogue but this dialogue must include those who really belong to Palestine and to the Palestinian cause,” he said.

Hamas officials have accused Abbas’ government of working with Israel against the group.

“Those who committed mistakes must correct their mistakes through a clear and frank declaration to stop security coordination with the [Israeli] occupation, release [Hamas] prisoners and later end negotiations (with Israel) because the peace process is irreversibly over,” said Hamdan.

“It’s time for us to talk about a reconciliation based on a resistance program to liberate the [occupied] territory and regain rights,” Hamdan said.

The Palestinian Authority has been conducting peace talks with Israel for more than a year.

There isn’t a shadow of any doubt that it is Hamas that wants war with Israel, a war that will only end when Israel and every Jew is wiped clear from the Jordan River to the Sea as demanded by the Hamas Covenant.

Hamas offers one year truce

The caring Hamas folk are prepared to offer Israel a one year truce.

Translation: We are out of rockets and mortars and need to re-arm, then we will continue to wipe Israel from the map.

Know one thing when dealing with Hamas, they are liars and do not want peace ever. As long as Hamas is in Gaza there will never be peace.

Hamas is prepared to reach a one-year truce with Israel if the border crossings into the Gaza Strip are opened, Hamas legislator Mushir al-Masri said on Sunday.

He said that a Hamas delegation currently holding talks in Cairo with Egyptian government officials made it clear that the movement would not agree to a long-term or permanent truce.

In Cairo, Ayman Taha, a member of the Hamas team, said after meeting with Egyptian intelligence chief Omar Suleiman that Hamas rejected an Israeli offer for an 18-month truce. He said the offer had been relayed to Hamas through Suleiman and other Egyptian officials.

“Hamas has proposed a one-year truce that would be evaluated [by Hamas] when it expires,” Masri said. “We are talking about a temporary truce that would be contingent on the reopening of all the border crossings, including the Rafah terminal, and lifting the blockade.”

A permanent truce would “contradict Hamas’s right to pursue the resistance for as long as the occupation exists,” he said.

Right, got that. They still refuse to recognise Israel’s sovereign right to exist and still wish to eliminate Israel. Why bother with a truce at all when they will be using it to re-arm and then continue the terror, the shellings, the rocket attacks and the mortar bombs. Israel should go in and finish the job off. Hamas has shown that they are weak by begging for a one year truce.

To make matters worse though the cheeky hamas pricks want to dictate who will guard the border crossings into Israel. They want only European and/or Turkish soldiers. That’ll fly like a pig. Israel will control its own borders thank y very much with no assistance from anyone.

Israel cannot trust the organisation that created it and they cannot trust anyone but themselves. The rest of world has shown that they do not want Israel to exist by their unwavering support for terror organisations like Hamas.

Jihad Watch: More Hamas War Crimes

Despite the best efforts of the jihad-e-enablers amongst the press and bloggers, like the BBC, manufacturing war crimes charges against the Israeli forces we are now seeing the truth starting to creep out of Gaza.

JihadWatch is one of the best sites for this information and today is no exception with two stories about how Hamas committed and commits war crimes.

The first is about how Hamas would try to hijack amubulances in order to get fighters out of harms way;

Mohammed Shriteh, 30, is an ambulance driver registered with and trained by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.

His first day of work in the al-Quds neighbourhood was January 1, the sixth day of the war. “Mostly the war was not as fast or as chaotic as I expected,” Mr Shriteh told the Herald. “We would co-ordinate with the Israelis before we pick up patients, because they have all our names, and our IDs, so they would not shoot at us.”

Mr Shriteh said the more immediate threat was from Hamas, who would lure the ambulances into the heart of a battle to transport fighters to safety.

“After the first week, at night time, there was a call for a house in Jabaliya. I got to the house and there was lots of shooting and explosions all around,” he said.

Because of the urgency of the call, Mr Shriteh said there was no time to arrange his movements with the IDF.

“I knew the Israelis were watching me because I could see the red laser beam in the ambulance and on me, on my body,” he said.

Getting out of the ambulance and entering the house, he saw there were three Hamas fighters taking cover inside. One half of the building had already been destroyed.

“They were very scared, and very nervous … They dropped their weapons and ordered me to get them out, to put them in the ambulance and take them away. I refused, because if the IDF sees me doing this I am finished, I cannot pick up any more wounded people.

“And then one of the fighters picked up a gun and held it to my head, to force me. I still refused, and then they allowed me to leave.”

Mr Shriteh says Hamas made several attempts to hijack the al-Quds Hospital’s fleet of ambulances during the war.

“You hear when they are coming. People ring to tell you. So we had to get in all the ambulances and make the illusion of an emergency and only come back when they had gone.”…

Nice fellas those Hamas folks, hijacking ambulances so the baby-killing Israeli Terrorist Army won’t shoot at them. Hang on a minute, weren’t the Israeli Army hell bent on genocide and maximising civilian casualties? Surely the Israelis was blowing those to kingdom come because there isn’t really a better target than screaming, wounded, children and mothers is there for causing massacres?

The second story isn’t much better. Palestinian people fed up to the back teeth with 14th centrury barbarism from hamas are starting to out who the real baby killers are. They tell how Hamas forced them to stay in buildings where fighters were station.

Palestinian civilians have accused Hamas of forcing them to stay in homes from which gunmen shot at Israeli soldiers during the recent hostilities in Gaza, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported Thursday.

More than 1,250 Palestinians were reportedly killed during Israel’s offensive against Hamas in the coastal territory. Israel has been harshly criticized for the large number of civilians among the Palestinian dead, of whom they numbered more than half according Gaza officials.

But the Italian paper also quoted a doctor at Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital as disputing the number of Palestinians said to have been killed in the campaign.

“It’s possible that the death toll in Gaza was 500 or 600 at the most, mainly youths aged 17 to 23 who were enlisted by Hamas – who sent them to their deaths,” he said.

13 Israelis were also killed during the 3-week operation, which was aimed at halting rocket fire on southern Israel and destroying Hamas’ infrastructure.

The Gaza doctor was further quoted as saying: “Perhaps it is like Jenin in 2002. At the beginning they spoke about 1,500 dead, and at the end it turned out to be only 54 – of whom 45 were militants.”

He was referring to the Israel Defense Forces battle with Palestinian militants in the West Bank town that took place during Operation Defensive Shield at the height of the second intifada.

Top IDF officer: Hamas made ‘monstrous’ use of children during Gaza op

The IDF Gaza Division Commander on Thursday, meanwhile, branded Hamas’ use of women and children during the offensive in Gaza as “monstrous” and “inhumane.”

Brig. Gen. Eyal Eisenberg said the civilians were sent by Hamas to transfer weapons to gunmen during the offensive. He also accused the Islamist militant group of booby-trapping many of the civilians’ homes.

“Entire families in Gaza lived on top of a barrel of explosives for months without knowing,” Eisenberg said.

The officer asserted that despite international calls for investigations into alleged war crimes, the Israel Defense Forces soldiers adhered to moral principles while fighting in Gaza.

The math of Gaza

Thanks to Oswald for directing me to this story.

If you believe the jihad-enablers and hand wringers of the left who have given up social democracy to support Hamas, the Israelis were variously accused of genocide, ethnic cleansing, murder and mass slaughter of civilians in their recent foray into Gaza. Those jihad-enablers, islamist apologists and hand wringers might like to consider some basic math.

There are anywhere from 20,000 to 40,000 Hamas soldiers. There are 1.5 million innocent civilians. Even if you are a complete moron you should be able to do the following math. 40,000 divided by 1.5 million is 1 soldier for every 37.5 civilians. So if one simply dropped a bomb in gaza and blindly killed 1200 people there would be 32 Hamas soldiers and 1168 innocent civilians. Even the UN, the best friend Hamas can have, estimates that 25% of the dead are civilians.

If Israel is targeting civilians than why is their hit rate – 25% – so miserably low when if they simply closed their eyes and bombed randomly without looking, they could get 96% civilians hit? Mathematics alone proves that Israel has to be doing something right to be saving so many civilian lives.

It is obvious that Israel must be taking great pains to target only soldiers that instead of only killing 32 soldiers (the number expected if they weren’t careful) they actually killed 900 – or 28 times better! I don’t know any army that is so careful, so considerate, so caring for human life that they have spared so many civilians that could have died just in the normal fog of war. This is why intelligent people know that Israel cares more about the Palestinian people in Gaza than Hamas does.

Well that kind puts to bed the accusations of the jihad-enablers and hand-wringers. It is simply farcical to suggest that the best combat army in the world after the US is targetting deliberately civilians and then scores so few of them.

By the way, there are so few civilians dying that Hamas has to stage fake deaths.
