The domino effect of Resolution 2334 continues

UN Resolution 2334 sponsored by the chairman of the security council, Murray McCully, whose strings were pulled by John Kerry and outgoing President Obama, sent a message to the Palestinians that Jerusalem was theirs. Now PLO President Abbas is pulling out all the stops to try to stop incoming President Trump from moving the US Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Why is he so against it? It is because it sends a strong counter message that the US recognises Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and therefore does not see it as Palestinian land.

Interestingly New Zealand shows its lack of diplomatic respect for Israel by locating its Israeli embassy not inside Israel but inside the Muslim majority country Turkey in their capital Ankara. We recognise the capitals of Muslim states so why don’t we recognise the capital of Israel?

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas sent letters to a number of world leaders on Monday urging them to prevent the stated goal of the incoming administration of US President-elect Donald Trump to move the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. to the official PA news outlet Wafa, Abbas sent letters to the heads of Russia, China, France, Germany, Britain, the European Union, the African Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Arab League secretary general, “asking them to spare no effort in preventing the US embassy from moving to Jerusalem”

Terrorism from Turkish Santa no surprise

A manhunt is on in Turkey for an assailant in a Santa hat who unleashed a salvo of bullets in a crowded Istanbul nightclub during New Year’s celebrations Sunday, killing at least 39 people.

A tit for tat erupted on Sunday as the government denied the attacker was in costume, despite video evidence.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told reporters on Sunday: “There is no truth to this. He is an armed terrorist as we know it.

Stuff

It should be no surprise to anyone that the Islamic terrorist in Turkey chose a Western symbol associated with a Christian religious holiday for his murderous spree. In Turkey, many ordinary Muslims are intolerant of western religious holidays and traditions and some are violently hostile towards them.

While Coptic Christians get slaughtered by the dozen, New Zealand does nothing except retweet messages

As a mostly Christian nation, it makes sense for NZ to bring in refugees that are likely to integrate and uphold our Kiwi values, rather than refugees from the only religion that most likely to fail to integrate and refuse to uphold our laws that conflict with their traditions.

While you read this, Coptic Christians are being slaughtered in Egypt.

Egypt has declared three days of mourning on Sunday after a bombing at a chapel adjacent to Egypt’s main Coptic Christian cathedral killed 25 people and wounded another 49.

Egypt’s state-run news agency Mena reported that 12 kilograms of TNT explosives were used in the attack. The majority of those killed were women and children.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.   Read more »

Erdogan connected to ISIS – Wikileaks claims as they release 57,000 emails

It has long been suspect that Erdogan was complicit in assisting and helping monetise Daesh, now Wikileaks has released 57,000 emails showing many undesirable details.

WikiLeaks has released a tranche of more than 57,000 personal emails from the account of Turkey’s Minister of Oil Berat Albayrak.

Albayrak is the son-in-law of the country’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The emails span a six-year period from 2000 to 2016 and allegedly reveal his level of influence in the country’s political scene.

The emails appear to have been obtained by Turkish hacktivist group Redhack, and which threatened to make his communications public back in September.   Read more »

Turkey has no moral right to demand visa-free travel but they have Europe over a barrel

While Turkey fails to protect Syrian refugee children from child rape which is widespread, it continues to hold Europe over a barrel  as it threatens to tear up a controversial migrant deal if  its citizens are not granted visa-free travel within the European Union.

The facts on the ground indicate that the sexual abuse of children in Turkey is extremely widespread and the Turkish state authorities are not acting responsibly.
When Syrian babies and other children, as well as women, are being raped and treated horribly in Turkey, and their abusers go free; when journalists covering these abuses are threatened; when publication bans are imposed on the crimes committed against Syrians, and when criminals are given “good conduct abatement” by courts, Turkey seems to be one of the last countries on earth to have the moral right to demand visa-free travel in Europe or anywhere else.

…A 9-month-old Syrian baby was raped in the Islahiye district of Gaziantep on August 19.

…Huseyin Simsek, the journalist who covered the incident for the newspaper Birgun, said that that he and the newspaper received countless death threats on social media for reporting the rape.

Turkey becomes more Islamic, age of consent lowered from fifteen to twelve years old

I wonder how attractive Turkey is looking to the EU right now? Do they really want to make it a member when it is going backwards into pedophile territory? Sex with a twelve year old or marriage to a twelve year old is considered pedophillia in every western nation. ” In striking contrast to Turkey, Spain in 2015  raised it from from 14 to 16 to bring it into line with the rest of Europe. I fear that the days of considering Turkey a ” moderate ” Muslim nation are long gone.

A row has erupted between the Turkish and Austrian governments following a decision by the Turkish Constitutional court to effectively lower the age of consent in Turkey to 12.

…The Constitutional Court has ruled to annul a provision that punishes all sexual acts against children under the age of 15 as “sexual abuse,” stirring outrage from academics and women’s rights activists who warn that the decision will lead to cases of child abuse going unpunished.

…Kronen Zeitung reported that the district court claimed a 15-year old’s consent was scarcely different to that of a 12 to 14-year-old’s. They argued that the mental capacity of a 12-year-old was not hugely different from a 15-year-old.

But local activists have not welcomed the decision.

Cartoonist Renald Luzier is overcome with grief during a Press conference to launch the first issue of Charlie Hebdo after the terrorist attack that murdered all his fellow cartoonists

We all know how extremist Islamic terrorists  silenced the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo by slaughtering  almost all of its cartoonists.  For a short period of time the remaining cartoonist continued to bravely mock Islam but eventually the strain was too much and they made a public declaration that Islam would be the only religion that the magazine would not satirise.

In an Islamic country that the media have repeatedly  held up as an example of moderate Islam, you would not expect a satirical magazine to be silenced.  In Turkey  however, in the wake of the failed coup by the army whose role is to keep  mosque and state separate, that is exactly what has happened.

By the time Turkey joins the EU, it will just be Germany and bludgers left

Turkey has piped up following the Brexit.

Europe’s politicians are failing to combat rising xenophobia and anti-immigrant views, Turkish officials say, after Britain’s vote to exit the European Union deprived Turkey of what had been a major backer in its quest for EU membership.

The Brexit campaign and the rise of Europe’s populist right have cast further doubt over Turkey’s decade-long accession negotiations, a process which was in its early years an anchor for economic and social reforms in the country.

President Tayyip Erdogan on Friday (local time) blamed Islamophobia for holding up Turkey’s accession process, accusing the bloc of double standards and warning that more countries could seek to leave.   Read more »
