New Zealand’s UN resolution against Israel is a recipe for legal jihad

Some people think what New Zealand did to Israel is no big deal and is nothing more that a rap over the hand with a wet bus ticket that Israel can choose to ignore. What New Zealand set in motion has opened Israel up to legal jihad with serious consequences for the only true democracy in the Middle East.

…The resolution makes Israeli citizens that are involved in the settlement enterprise in the West Bank vulnerable to lawsuits in courts all over the world.

Jerusalem is also worried that the resolution opens the door for lawsuits against Israeli officials at the ICC: government ministers and senior IDF officers who make decisions about construction in the settlements, the demolition of Palestinian homes, or the expropriation of lands could be accused of war crimes under the Geneva Convention.

The resolution can also lead to the creation of mechanisms to monitor and report Israeli actions, which could lead to sanctions being imposed against it.

The resolution’s wording can also be seen as a victory to the BDS Movement, as it opens the door for boycotts of goods produced in the Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Quite rightly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not letting this attack go unanswered and he is hitting the corrupt and hopelessly compromised, Muslim controlled UN where it hurts. The exact same sweet spot that Trump can also push, thanks to Republican support for cutting UN funding unless the decision is reversed.

UN staff hail Palestinian terror attacks on social media

UNRWA has always been part of the problem, never the solution.

Now their staff have been busted hailing terrorist attacks on social media.

Palestinian employees of a UN refugee agency are inciting Palestinians to commit terror attacks against Israelis from social media accounts on which they explicitly identify as United Nations workers, a report from a UN watchdog published Friday charged.

UN Watch chief Hillel Neuer said his organization’s report was submitted to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, to UNRWA chief Pierre Krähenbühl and to US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power. The US, according to the United Nations monitoring group, is the largest funder of UNRWA with $400 million annually.

In the report, Neuer cites nine UNRWA employees and presents screenshots of what the group says are inciteful posts from their Facebook pages that call for the murder of Jews, or promote conspiracy theories claiming terrorists killed by Israeli security forces were innocent.

Among the purported employees cited in the report is Hani al Ramahi, who identifies as a project support assistant at UNRWA. He posted a violent image on his Facebook on October 8 in which a keffiyeh-clad man stares down the camera, holding a knife with a blade bearing the colors of the Palestinian flag and dripping with blood. “Stab Zionist dogs,“ reads the caption.

UN Official calls for boycott of Jerusalem Post, UN then say he didn’t say boycott…uhmmm…yes he did

UN official Chris Gunness has called for a boycott of the Jerusalem Post because he got his knicker in a twist that he wasn’t asked for a quote in an article about he ineffectiveness of UNRWA.

Gunnesstweet.jpg

There it is in black and white…”Boycott the JPost!”

Can’t get much clearer than that.

The story was an op-ed by a Palestinian Arab. Op-eds obviously don’t require quotes.  The Jerusalem Post is centrist in its editorial line and hardly ultra-right. And none of that had anything to do with Bassem Eid who is neither Israeli nor right wing.

Now, the UN is far from perfect and UNRWA has been spanked of late for promoting hate and violence as well as allowing their hospitals and schools to be used by Hamas to conduct combat operations.

But blatant lies are so far beyond the line something needs to be done.  Read more »

Hamas has a new problem and it isn’t the Israelis

Hamas has a new problem in Gaza, and it isn’t the Israelis.

It is always dreamlike to see one Islamist terror group accuse the other of being too “lenient” when it comes to enforcing sharia laws. But it is not dreamlike when a terrorist group starts threatening writers and women.

That is what is happening these days in the Gaza Strip, where supporters of the Islamic State are accusing Hamas of failing to impose strict Islamic laws on the Palestinian population — as if Hamas has thus far endorsed a liberal and open-minded approach toward those who violate sharia laws.

Until this week, the only topic Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were talking about was how to rebuild homes and buildings that were destroyed during the last war between Hamas and Israel.

Now, however, almost everyone is talking about the Islamic State threats against poets, writers and women.

It is no secret that the Islamic State has a presence in the Gaza Strip. According to sources there, many disgruntled members of Hamas and other radical salafi-jihadi groups have already joined the Islamic State, with some fighting together with ISIS groups in Syria and Iraq.

Earlier this year, it was revealed here that Islamic State has already begun operating inside the Gaza Strip — much to the dismay of Hamas.

Hamas, nevertheless, continues to deny any presence of Islamic State inside the Gaza Strip. “There are no members of Islamic State in the Gaza Strip,” said Eyad al-Bazam, spokesman for the Hamas-run Interior Ministry.

Many Palestinians, however, do not seem to take Hamas’s denials seriously, and remain unconvinced.

Over the past few days, two separate leaflets signed by Islamic State threatened to target Palestinian poets and writers for their “wantonness” and “atheism.” The leaflets mention the poets and writers by name — a move that created panic among many Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The leaflets also included an ultimatum to Palestinian women to abide by Islamic attire or face the Islamic State style of punishment — presumably being stoned to death. The threat leaves one with the false impression that, under Hamas, women can wear swimming suits at the beach and walk around the streets of Gaza City in mini-skirts.

But this is what happens when one fundamentalist group believes that the other is not radical enough.

Hamas Hugger Rachel Smalley is dead wrong

Rachel Smalley is now a self declared Hamas Hugger.

She shows her complete ignorance this morning on NewstalkZB, and she cannot go unchallenged for her mad ranting.

She self describes herself as “the serious Journalist”…but ignores facts and evidence as she joins the jihad against Israel.

I can’t sit on the political fence anymore on the Israel-Palestine situation. It has always been a difficult conflict to report on, to balance the position of both sides. There is no place for judgement.

Well, not anymore. Not for me.

I can’t report the situation in Gaza with balance anymore because there simply is none. Israel’s actions are abhorrent. The killing, the targeting of civilians, the toddlers and the babies who are dying every day. It reveals the Israeli regime for what it is – a callus anti-Palestinian killing machine.

Israel’s conflict should be with Hamas, but it’s not. It’s with the Palestinians. Almost two million people who live in the Gaza Strip, entrapped and caged in an area that is 40 kilometres long by ten kilometres wide. The bombardment of Gaza is akin to caged lion hunting in South Africa. There is no escape – only terror as bombs and bullets rain down.

The Israelis say they ‘regret’ when a civilian is killed. Rubbish! They regret nothing. They put no value on a Palestinian life.

Mad ranting, and largely fact free…she then lies outright. Israel does not target civilians, Hamas uses civilians as human shields. It is Hamas that puts no value on Palestinian life.

In fact watch this video as Israeli pilots pull out of attacks because civilians are in the vicinity. Now who is right Rachel Smalley or me? Rachel Smalley the “serious journalist” or Israel?
