Bad Joke Foreign Minister for Kiwis

The Australian considers Winston Peters as Foreign Minister a “bad joke”.

New Zealand’s wild election ride came to an extraordinary finish last night as Labour Prime Minister Helen Clark cobbled together a bizarre minority government with Mr Peters as Foreign Minister.

Meanwhile, New Zealand Malaysia Business Council chairman John Wong said Mr Peters’ appointment was an insult to New Zealand because his policies and positions have not been immigrant-friendly.

Mr Wong said: “His anti-immigrant image is definitely not good for the country.”

Potential migrants from Asia would now go to Australia and Canada, Mr Wong said. “I do not see how he can contribute to the country as foreign minister.”
