Labour starts new Government with the big lie

[Imported from Whale Oil Beef Hooked on Blogger]

The big lie is that New Zealand First and United Future is not in coalition with Labour and Progressives, yet Winston Peters will become Minister of Foreign Affairs and Racing, and Associate Minister for Senior Citizens and Peter Dunne has been named as Minister of Revenue and Associate Minister of Health.

In direct contradiction of his speech in Rotorua 7 September 2005, Peter has succumbed to the baubles of power. (Emphasis is mine)

…and now the voters know New Zealand First will not be in government – by our own choice – they also deserve to know that we intend to serve New Zealanders, as we always have, by keeping the next government honest. And to keep it from pandering to the extreme Left or extreme Right, and from within.

It involves for my colleagues a real sacrifice, but we willingly make it. For my part, I never took as deputy Prime Minister ministerial cars or a house, so we genuinely don’t care about the baubles of office. (yeah right)

No-one will be happy with this result, the voters didn’t vote for it, New Zealand First supporters were led to believe something else entirely and one suspects that though the party doesn’t care about the baubles of office, Winston certainly does, though you really don’t need a car to roll down to the Green parrot.

Only complete contempt for useless tits like Peter Dunne can suffice. I will leave that vitriol to someone else.

One suspects that the Labour left and the Greens will not be enjoying this little jaunt down the right side of the ledger and knowing the Tailors Dummy like I do, I certainly can’;t see this lasting.

This was definately the election to lose.
