There is hope – Pita Sharples seems to agree with National’s PC Eradication suggestions!

Tikanga Maori should either be done properly or not at all, and he would ask the committee to investigate. He had already asked departments about their use of powhiri.

“There are certain etiquette and behaviour that’s required, and if you don’t do that…just shake hands and do it the Western way. If you’re doing it just to be PC or if you’re doing it just to make your department look good or doing it to show off our Maori staff, then that’s a wrong reason.”
