State of the Nation – State of the Union

Tomorrow, Tuesday 31 Jan 05 is a very big day in politics!

Here in New Zealand Don Brash will be delivering is annual speech to the Orewa Rotary Club. As we all know, this speech has proven in the last few years to be the key agenda setter and the one to take note of.

More importantly though, 31 Jan is also the date in which US President George W. Bush will be delivering his annual State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress.

Dubya’s address can be watched live via CSpan at 9pm Eastern Standard Time. (3pm NZ Time on Wednesday)

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
