Here is a "little" vessel we have been working on

The barge is 22 Metres long, the deck area is 19 metres. The deck can take two truck and trailer units side by side with their cabs under the wheel house. The bottom of the wheel house is 3m from the deck the roof of the wheel house is 5 m from the deck.

This thing has two Perkins Diesel engines with Konrad Stern Drives. It will boogey along at 30 knots empty.

In case you are wondering the Engine/Stern drive combination is Military specification and tested by the likes of the Hong Kong Police

The fuel tanks hold 5000 litres. It can take a payload of over 80 tonnes before the deck goes underwater and even then it can be driven. It is one serious hunk of machinery….next week the maiden voyage as we bring it down from Whangarei to Auckland. There is nothing small about this.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
