Auckland City Council stupidity

A friend of mine has some land on an Island in the Hauraki Gulf.

He has applied for consent to build a holiday hous on his 15 acres.

All was going well until the council insisted he design and have a carpark space beside the dwelling.

Slight problem Mr Council Man. The land is land locked there is no physical way to get a vehicle onto the property from anywhere other than by Helicopter.

You cannot drive to the porerty as there is no road or vehicle access. the only way to ge to the property is by boat.

To put the icing on the cake, when the council allowed subdivsion to create the section they knew it would be landlocked and only accesible from the sea.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him, you can’t ignore him.
