So we are being softened up for tolls on existing roads

We are clearly being softened up to accept tolls on existing roads, supposedly because roading is unaffordable without them.

What I cannot abide is the talk that we should pay for congestion. This congestion is not of our own making is because successive governments for one reason or another have continuely underfunded Aucklands Roads till have reached the parlous state they are in now.

"You are not paying for road use to recover the cost of the road. You are paying to reflect the congestion that is being placed on the land and reflecting the economic value that can be extracted from that network," he said.

Complete utter bullshit, this is nothing other than a softening up process.

One thing for sure, labour is screwed if thy try to put this through.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
