Hodgson oversees Health system collapse

The Health system is on the verge of collapse. This despite the government pouringbillions of extra cash into the system. Pete Hodgson must be a very worried man.

Everyday we are treated to more and more stories of the health system failing New Zealanders.?

Today is no different.

From the Herald we have the news that women who have survived breast cancer are not getting beneficial breast reconstructions because high demand and a lack of resources in public hospitals mean they are not an immediate priority. They are essentially being culled from the waiting lists.

Health professionals are now screaming to the media, frustrated by mis-aligned priorities.
?Dr Scott said Middlemore Hospital's plastics unit is treating patients with "burns from P labs that have blown up" and nose fractures from rugby accidents, but delayed breast reconstruction was treated as "by-the-by".

"It just absolutely infuriates me."
Then from NewstalkZB we hear of a poor 72-year-old cancer victim who has a hole in her face where her nose was and has been told she is too old for a prosthetic replacement. Ironically a drug fucked wreck of an 18-year-old man who lost his nose in a P explosion at the same time received a replacement nose in just six weeks shows just how out of kilter the government is with its priorities.

These scandals are death by a thousand cuts for a government and I remeber them well from 1999. This government cannot stem the tide now. Everyone smells the rotting corpse and the vultures are circling.
