Key Points over Election Spending

Just so you don't get caught in the Labour Party spin cycle, please note these brief points.

  • Labour's comments over the last few days are a desperate attempt to divert attention away from their blunder.
  • National spent under the cap and Labour didn't, it's that simple.
  • National at all times met the rules for disclosure of donations.
  • The Auditor-General's draft report says Labour misappropriated funds for electioneering. If the final report of the Auditor-General shows Labour acted unlawfully they should pay the money back.
  • The Brethren have told the Select Committee that they did not give one dollar to the National Party.
  • National wants to amend legislation to pay money back, Labour wants to amend legislation to avoid paying it back.

They should pay the money back!

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
