Capitalism in action

It seems the war is on against capitalism scalpers again.

Big Day Out tickets are going for as high as $550 on Trademe.

The Big Day out promoter is saying that they may refuse entry to those people who buy the tickets in a classic case of punishing innocent people for no other reason than they wanted so badly to go to the Big Day Out that they paid above the odds to someone who clearly didn’t want to go that much anyway.

This is a victim-less "crime". Why bother?

i fail to see what is wrong with scalping and am yet to hear a valid reason for trying to outlaw such a fine capitalist practice.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
