Government ban on lollies imminent?

Scott Gilmour of Takapuna write to the editor of the NZ Herald.
It is my fervent hope that David Benson-Pope and other ministers of the Crown do not read the front page story in Mondays NZ Herald, about the milk truck crash in Waipawa.

They are sure to notice that the cause of the crash appears to be that the driver was choking on a lolly. Given the Government’s proclivity for saving us from our bad habits, is it inevitable that the fireworks ban will be closely followed by a lolly ban?

Heck, not only will this avoid road accidents, it can also be packaged as part of the fight against obesity and poor health.
As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
