An interesting study on charity

I have thought about this post all day, and I have given it all day to think about before writing it.

I have just completed my research and the findings are astounding.

As a prelude, Herr Rottenführer Jordan Carter and David Farrar have been having a Tête-à-Tête online about charity which clearly shows the leftist thinking regarding charity.

So here is the method of my research. I checked the Right and left links from David Farrar’s blog, I know, I know, unscientific, but he does have the best blogroll. I was looking for mentions of Russell Brown’s "Hustle for Russell" to see where the charity minded folk of the blogosphere lie. The results will astound you.

Now before I release the results, just a little plug for Russell. Being part of a family with a member with a disability myself I know exactly where you are right now. I have posted on the inquities of our Social Welfare system when people like my BIL Matthew and now the Brown’s have to essentially go cap in hand to the general populace for assistance. This sucks, it sucks to the the family, it sucks to be the individual, it just sucks….and all the while we are pouring "welfare" into arguably middle class families. I state again that people with disabilities should have "gold-plated" welfare, no if’s, but’s or maybe’s.

Anyway, here are the results of my research.

I checked the links of each of the blogs in the left and right on David Farrar’s blogroll, I hit refresh just to make sure i had all postings and then scrolled the entire page, this is what I found.

Right Blogs promoting the "Hustle for Russell"

  • David Farrar
  • Whale Oil Beef Hooked
  • Hitting Metal with a Hammer
  • Not PC

Left Blogs promoting the "Hustle for Russell"

That’s right, none from the left. I guess the moral of the story is if you need charity or help go see the Tories. Don’t bother seeing the leftists, they are all talk and full of shit. The left disgusts me.

  • Have to agree with your commenter above – why is the tutor so expensive?

I’ve another charity to look into: http://www.aria.org.nz.

Yeah, and I think I know why mention of “Hustle For Russell” is not made on any of the ‘left’ blogs that you surveyed.

Its because ‘right thinkers’ tend to view helping others as a personal decision to be made and acted upon by the individual, who has a moral duty to try to alleviate suffering if he can. ‘Rightists’ are readily able to be motivated to give of their time and/or money to charitable actions, and it is this motivation that founded probably all the well-known charities historically.

‘Leftists’, on the other hand, have a tendency to just think that ‘something should be done’ and that ‘people (generally i.e. the state) should help people in need’).

Thus, while the ‘rightist’ will often get off his arse and actually do something to help a person/family/group/nation in need, the ‘leftist’ will tend to just make a lot of noise in an attempt to get others to do it for him.

Surely between Public Address and Kiwiblog that mean everybody’s already seen it?
