Subject: Important security information for online Labour donors

Last night we discovered the possibility of a malicious breach of the Labour Party online donation system. We began an investigation immediately.

Earlier this morning we isolated a system vulnerability that we believe has been exploited by a prominent right-wing blogger.

If you have made an online donation to the Labour Party this year, your name, email address and the amount of your donation or membership fee may have been obtained.

No credit card details were compromised.

In response to this intrusion:

• we have secured the system to ensure that this cannot happen again.

• we will commission an independent security review of our databases.

We understand the seriousness of this kind of event, and we apologise unreservedly.

If you need any more details or wish to discuss this issue further please don’t hesitate to contact me on my mobile: 027 451 3579.

Sincerely

Chris Flatt

Labour Party General Secretary

More details later.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him, you can’t ignore him.
