Subject: Important security information for online Labour donors

Last night we discovered the possibility of a malicious breach of the Labour Party online donation system. We began an investigation immediately.

Earlier this morning we isolated a system vulnerability that we believe has been exploited by a prominent right-wing blogger.

If you have made an online donation to the Labour Party this year, your name, email address and the amount of your donation or membership fee may have been obtained.

No credit card details were compromised.

In response to this intrusion:

• we have secured the system to ensure that this cannot happen again.

• we will commission an independent security review of our databases.

We understand the seriousness of this kind of event, and we apologise unreservedly.

If you need any more details or wish to discuss this issue further please don’t hesitate to contact me on my mobile: 027 451 3579.

Sincerely

Chris Flatt

Labour Party General Secretary

More details later.

Gasp Cam you didnt hack sony playstation also???? you seem good enough

  • gaskranken

I don’t know if you still remember the post I made to this very blog way over 12 months ago Cam, where I stated that the best thing about having you here to keep the bastards honest is the constant fear they live with that should you get access to inside information they’re fucked!!!

Daddy be rushin home from the wedding then?

Well done mate, as I have also stated a very long time ago, `you don’t protect your donation list with a 5 dollar lock from the Big Red Shed, right?

    • That’s what is so surprising about it all. There wasn’t even a $5 lock. It was out there blowing in the breeze, any average 12 year old with internet access could view it.
Isn’t that gross negligence? incompetence? ( pick an adjective )

      • reid

How about “typical lefty” or is that a noun?

  • reid

we have secured the system to ensure that this cannot happen again.

Is it up at the mo?

Is that how they’ve “secured it?”

we will commission an independent security review of our databases.

Gee really? Is that really necessary?

Gee I wonder what the senior Liarbore officials are conferring on right about now?

I bet there’s a few fwowny faces and upside down smiles. Awwwwwwwww.

    Isn’t it tewwible?

Someone’s read our unsecured data? Does that mean it’s stolen? [No] Can we make it look like it was? [No]

    Oh dear. This is tewwible.

  • “Flatt” is a very approriate name for Labour’s General Secretary. It’s rather like Labour’s performance in Opposition.

  • whafe

The term “Cluster Fuck” comes straight to mind….
