More evidence Labour is broke

Labour looks set to clash with the Electoral Commission for breaking the law again.

Newstalk ZB has been told by the Electoral Commission last week that Labour is in breach of an Electoral Law that carries a maximum $40,000 fine.

“It’s given an advisory opinion a “Stop Asset Sales” flyer is a party advertisement and doesn’t satisfy statutory requirements for a promoter statement  …  Although the flyer does contain Phil Goff’s name and Parliament Buildings as his address, the Commission advises that doesn’t satisfy statutory requirements … The Commission is considering whether this is serious enough to report to police.”

This Electoral Commission opinion appears to be for one piece of materialI’ve highlighted others on this blog. That was a week ago, what is happening at the Electoral Commission

Labour knows the rules – they helped write them plus they’ve been well circulated and even featured here.

Too right the Commission should take further action. They should be prosecuted and they should be fined, and not just for this case, but for all of their cases.

Labour are recidivist offenders – and this is not accidental.

We know Labour MPs are being instructed to use Parliamentary funding to “benefit the LP” and trying to save what little cash they have for later this year.

Labour’s constituency MPs are trying to keep a constant flow of taxpayer-funded material flowing through people’s letter boxes.

But this has now got so bad, that senior MPs like David Cunliffe are recycling taxpayer-funded material that’s months old. (NOTE: There’s a tiny weeny crest on the front of this which clearly break Parliamentary Services rules about logos as well)

Talk about junk mail.

The Cunliffe courier ‘Autumn 2010/11 issue arrived in letterboxes out west during the weekend.  It promotes events which have long been and gone – like the ‘upcoming’ April 4 meeting with Phil Goff.  Don’t be late??

David Cunliffe inviting people to a meeting in the pastVoters will need a Tardis to make that meeting.

My Labour party sources also tell me the printers are currently busy putting together a big Labour order of taxpayer-funded election advertising. Those same sources report a large number of lawyers also spending a huge amount of time with the Labour party right now.

Who knows maybe this one will comply with the law, no others have yet.

I hope the Electoral Commission “throw the book” at Labour. No excuses – it’s time that the bastards were nailed.

    I wonder:
a/ how much it is costing Labour in lawyers
b/ if nothing, what do the lawyers see in it for themselves (lets be honest, they’re not the most generous bunch)
c/ will their fees (if donated) be covered under donations/expenditure (you know what I mean)

If this was Hulun in power and this was the Nats what’s the bet she’d right now tonight be making damn sure the Electoral Commission applied the harshest possible interpretation to every single letter of the relevant law and she’d be doing it through third parties who left no room for doubt as to what they were supposed to do and no room for any Electoral Commission official to say anything about it to the media were they so inclined.

Yet what’s the chance that Key is doing that? About zero.

The Electoral Commissioner is one of the pieces in this puzzle and perhaps it’s time he showed his balls on this one. Who appoints the CEO of Parliamentary Services? They’re not in the SSC’s list of CEO’s.

I just find it execrable a main political party sitting inside the NZ Parliament finds it acceptable to rip us all off. It shouldn’t happen ever, and yes all others do it.

But newsflash lefties, two wrongs don’t make a right, do they. Not in this world, which you wish to lead us towards. Do they.

So all of them, just stop it. But especially you Liarbore cause you’re so fucking blatant about it, lead by example, you fucking coward scum slimy little fucks. Crawl out of your sewer and take a look around, at what your poisonous example is doing to weak and stupid people in this population who are too stupid or ill-disciplined they can’t understand the profundity of your crime or they just don’t think its important.

You do it cause you can get away with it, don’t you. You know there’s no penalty if you get caught not even a public opinion one cause you’ll just wheel out Silent-T and make him enuciate some slimy bullshit that will confuse Walrus and simply make John giggle like a schoolboy, won’t you. Either him in person or you’ll just ask him for the best slime possible and you know he’ll just vomit up something good.

So you don’t give a fuck, do you.

Regardless of the ethics or the example it sets – thought you were supposed to be exemplar community leaders, guess not – you’ll just keep scampering around the law, like little rats, till you find a little hole which you’ll crawl through again.

What surprises me Liarbore is your brazen balls in it. You know lots of us know. You know if we ever have a chance any of us will leap at an opportunity to damage you on it and yet you persist in your brazenness. You clearly don’t give a fuck. Personally I’ll leap on any others just as quickly if I ever get the opportunity to damage them over this, but I’ll take especial pleasure in nailing Liarbore to the wall, just cause they’re scum.
