Labour appoints Parker in Epsom

David Parker has announced that he will run in Epsom.

What has become of the admittedly small amount of democracy that used to exist in Labour party selections? When was the selection meeting? What about the hordes of union flunkies being bussed in to ensure the selection?

Perhaps the strangest thing of all was that the candidate announced his own selection.

Labour made a big song and dance about National allegedly stitching up selections but this is clearly one of the biggest stitch-ups going. Where is Grant Robertson’s press release about this stitch-up? Or is he staying silent because he is in Parker’s camp running the numbers for him?

Is there any leadership in Labour anymore or are they now just a collection of individuals looking out for themselves and jockeying for the leadership?

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.
