Got him, another harpoon to the Whale

Max Dillon Coyle has been stood down in Hamilton West.

Green Party candidate Max Coyle has stood down as Hamilton West candidate after admitting misleading theWaikato Times.

Hamilton Green Party spokesman Mark Servian said Mr Coyle had agreed to step down “in the light of things that have occurred”.

Mr Coyle’s partner, Melissa Campbell, appeared in a story in the newspaper on Monday about the young mum’s likely voting intentions but she did not reveal her partner’s role in the Greens.

“He is still going to continue his role in the Green Party in a voluntary capacity,” Mr Servian said.

Hamilton West now would not have a Greens candidate in November’s election.

Mr Coyle said he made an error of judgement by not ensuring the paper knew he was Ms Campbell’s partner and he offered his “sincere apologies for misleading the Waikato Times.”

That is two in two elections. The first was Brenden Sheehan and now there is Max Dillon Coyle.

    excellent work cam
you must have made the Greenies very nervous

Hate to break it to you Cam, but he was being held accountable for this saga before Whale Oil ‘broke the story’. Might have broken the story nationally beyond Hamilton, but there were already plenty of complaints to the editor of the Waikato Times and conversation on the Times’ Facebook page well before it got blog coverage. The Times pulled the story from their website several hours after it was published because of reader complaints for not disclosing his candidacy.

Whale Oil certainly added some pressure, but hardly think it is being ‘harpooned’..

Surely there have been countless examples of blatant attempts by the Greens to mislead in order that they would benefit. Remember the “short back and sides” haircut, sports jacket, white shirt and tie that Rod Donald wore in all the TV “persuaders” that preceded MMP? Donald and his compatriots presented themselves and came across as as mild conservatives in dress, manner and speech – which style of attire and behaviour were never again witnessed once the MMP vote had been secured.

I’d have FPP over what we have presently, any day of the week.

Typical lying duplicitous greenie. They’re so holier than thou that it is great to take them down. Well done WO!

The Greens are idiots. In the news paper article I read by Waikato Times it said nothing about Melissa Campbell being asked if she was in a relationship with a greens party member. In another article it says she was asked if she had anything to do with the Green Party and she said no. That i s not misleading anyone, she may not be involved with the Green Party, dating a Green Party member does not mean you are involved with the party in anyway. I dated a National party chick once, but I was never involved with and never would be involved with the National party. Apart from that Max was not being misleading, it was not him that was interviewed. So the Greens are being narrow minded idiots in getting rid of Max (standing down means he has been told to stand down he did not do it by choice), he has built the popularity in this area. He has caused the Green to actually shown up in polling results and had a good chance of coming close to winning as he was polling higher and higher each poll. The Green nutters have cut their own throats, they would rather be one less MP in parliament than run the risk that half a dozen people that would never vote for Greens might not like what Melissa Campbell did. The Greens are tossers and losers, their polling will slide soon and they will be lucky to stay above 10% in the election. Instead of thinking about how they had a chance to upset Nationals results, they have chosen to help make it easier for national with their actions.

Whether they are green or not – there is never any excuse for misleading people that you are asking to vote for you. God knows this current Government and previous administrations have done it (mislead the voters – and still are in some cases) – i thought the Greens offered an alternative?

    Obviously not.

Good spear Cam.. Good to see the Greens have ethics.
Labour could learn a lot from their example.

How can you tell if a Green is attempting to mislead? They are talking/writing.

Greens lie. Simple assumption when reading their stuff. Sometimes I turn out to be wrong, but not often.

  • excuseme

Hippynz: Same old story from the lefties: the end always justifies the means.

So convinced that their minority view of the world is infallible, they will pull any nefarious trick available in their quest for power to re-distribute other people’s assets.

    Devious, lying hypocrites.

“He is still going to continue his role in the Green Party in a voluntary capacity,” Mr Servian said.

So more than happy to have a known misleader of the media and public to carry on working for them and helping with their campaining then.

Good, I support the Greens but Max is a dick and was dragging them down
