Rugby World Cup Briefs

The first weekend of the Rugby World Cup is over. There were no major upsets but some of the big teams had haphazard starts. The scoreboard has the results.

My favourite teams did well. The All Blacks were comfortable against Tonga. Fiji rolled Namibia and Scotland beat Romania.

South Africa scratched out a one point win against Wales who played pretty well. They were robbed by tits kicking, missing a droppie right in front with 10 minutes left to play.

I was pleased to see England struggle against Argentina and disappointed for the Argies that they didn’t beat the Poms.

Was for sure some great games…

I thought those Pommy’s could have won by more points, they even had a 16th man, whom made an appearance dressed in black ;)

Wales so could have won…. Barnes had a fair few shit calls to in my opinion…

The contest is certainly not as one sided as we thought going into the competition. Much respect to Tonga, Namibia, Japan, America, Wales and Argentina.

In particular I think Wales, Namibia and Argentina were all robbed, they should/could have won.

    My picks

    Australia
    South Africa
    New Zealand
    England

Still waiting to see what the French can do.

How good it is mate – that the ‘minnows’ and previously beatable teams are getting better and better – including the PI teams.

Proud of the yanks too on a difficult day for their fine nation – they put up a spirited effort.

This is what it should all be about – the power of possibility.

Let’s not forget that in the last world cup Argentina came third so it was always going to be a tough game. That’s a considerable number of places above NZ who were sat in the departure lounge at Charles De Gaulle by the time they were working out placings.

Let’s not forget that in the 2007 world cup Argentina came third so it was always going to be a tough game. That’s a considerable number of places above NZ who were sat in the departure lounge at Charles De Gaulle by the time they were working out placings.
