The No Campaign Campaign

Labour tried fundraising through having the No Dinner Dinner. Word on the street is that this went down like a cup of cold sick, raising hardly anything.

While all the cool kids in the party were lapping up Trevor’s insults, the ones out in the electorates were working hard to stay positive.

Labour has basically abandoned them though, to their own devices as the money failed to materialise. Instead Labour’s grand campaign strategy is to have the No Campaign Campaign. 

They have made their focus, for the campaign, the website, Facebook and Twitter. Instead of talking to the masses they are talking to an echo chamber. Little wonder the fundamentalist supporters think they are doing so well.

Even Grant Robertson can’t see the inanity of their No Campaign Campaign:

“I think everybody can see John Key is an extremely popular Prime Minister. But we want New Zealanders to know they’ve got a clear choice here, and it’s a clear choice about policies.”

In that whole statement there isn’t a single mention about Phil Goff or about Labour, instead Grant Robertson, the genius is talking about his opponents. This is a Campaigning 101 fail. You never talk about your opponents directly. You only talk about “them” or “the other side”, you never speak about their branding or names.
