Policy not Personality, Ctd

Phil Goff told us that Labour would would focus on policy and not personality, he told us that the election wasn’t a popularity contest and 5 minutes after he said that he started labour’s real plan of denigrating and attacking John Key.

Bill Ralston has seen through Labour’s mis-speaking.

Bill Ralston started with an attack on Labour’s campaign, saying the party has been playing the man and not the ball and that is losing them votes.

“When are Labour going to learn from the last election”, he says, “They went out and their messaging was ‘you can’t trust John Key, he’s a liar and he’s really Don Brash in disguise’.

“They lost because people didn’t believe them and now, they turn around, ‘he’s a liar, you can’t trust John Key’.

“Having said that this was going to be a campaign about policy, what do they do? They launch personality attacks. David Cunliffe’s personality attack on Judith Collins with Paul Henry on radio the other day – they play the man and not the ball and that loses them votes,” Bill Ralston says.

Almost daily we are seeing the proof that Labour is the nasty party.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
