When will Goff’s meetings happen?

Much has been made by media and commentators about “the meeting” between John Banks and John Key.

What I find hilarious is the arch supporters of MMP expressing outrage about it as a “rort”. Are they not aware of the law that supports our voting system. Having a meeting, cutting a deal is all part of the much vaunted system that these folks love.

Perhaps the only problem for them is that the folks involved int eh meeting aren’t from their team, and that says more about them than it does about deals under MMP.

Politicians will always find a way of manipulating the rules to suit themselves and I fail to see why commentators and media alike are at all surprised.

What I want to see now though is media start to ask when Phil Goff is going to have Whiskey with Winston, and a hongi with Hone, and “get on” with the Greens. he needs all of them to make it across the line. Seems only fair that we see those photo opportunities before the election so we get to see what his cobbled together coalition of the disaffected will look like.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
