Don’t you just love the hypocrisy of the left

Tony Blair railed against business, he insisted that people pay their fair share of taxes and when he left politics what did he do?

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair channelled millions of pounds through a complicated web of companies and paid just a fraction in tax, The Sunday Telegraph can reveal.

Official accounts show a company set up by Mr Blair to manage his business affairs paid just £315,000 in tax last year on an income of more than £12 million. In that time, he employed 26 staff and paid them total wages of almost £2.3 million.

The accounts provide the strongest evidence yet of the huge sums generated by Mr Blair through his various activities since quitting Downing Street in June 2007.

Yep, looks like Honest Tony is sure paying his fair share.

A comment from resident expert on the British Labour party, Brian Gould, would be interesting.

    gazzaw… yes please.
Blair, a classic  ‘do as I say not as I do’  fellow. Follows the labour mold perfectly.

Don’t worry. Just like he did with the Iraq war, Tony Blair prayed to God about whether or not he should pay his fair share of tax.

Of course Tony Blair believes that Tony Blair is God.

It’s a phenomenon now quite common in Leftist parties now they’ve been taken over by the liberal elite.  I know one who was close to Clarke and was very wealthy and was all for progressive taxes, but of course he used “tax efficient” structures as he called them to avoid paying the rich pricks tax rate.  Just as I can’t stand welfare bludgers, so I can’t stand those who avoid paying their fair share of tax, especially if they happen to be a Leftist.  We need to move to the Norwegian approach whereby all the amount of tax you pay and the amount of your estimated worth is available to see on a public register; we also need to follow the Americans and have a “patriotic millionaires” facility whereby those who feel guilt a not paying enough tax eg Sam Morgan can voluntarily pay as much as they like.  Should imagine that both measures should result in some resignations on both sides of the House, and Labour made to look like hypocrites.

And that Harridan wife of his.  She may be a QC but has no common sense and grabs as much as she can.

How many people attended Blairs “lecture” in Akl last year??? Why anyone would want to listen to an arch liar I know not
