Face of the Day

This nice scrubbed up well dressed man is actually a cold blooded granny killer, sentenced to life in prison. With a long history of offending it i highly likely that if we had three strikes laws years ago he may not have bashed or killed Yan Ping Yang. Remember Labour oppose three strikes legislation and have said they will repeal it.

For the second time, a man who brutally bashed a grandmother in her own home has been sentenced to life in prison.

Olinale Ah You, 32, will serve a minimum non-parole period of 18 years and six months for the 2008 murder of Yan Ping Yang in Manurewa.

In 2010 Ah You was found guilty of murder and handed a life sentence with a minimum 20 year non-parole period by Justice Edwin Wylie in the High Court at Auckland.

But early last year the Court of Appeal quashed the conviction and ordered a re-trial. The reason was suppressed.

In November a High Court jury again found Ah You guilty of the slaying.

At his sentencing today it emerged that Ah You had a long history of offending in both New Zealand and Australia and that he was already serving sentences for other crimes.

That’s a nice clean freshly scrubbed neck, just the place for a one size fits all rope, and for all you soft cocks I’ll translate – String The Fucker Up.

I believe that he is already serving a 12 year sentence. TV News did not clarify whether this sentence would be cumulative upon that. I’m guessing that it won’t but I hope that I’m wrong.

       Fat hance of that.

  • As I blogged yesterday, this fine, upstanding young man should become the poster-child for the Three Srikes legislation. He is exactly the kind of offender that David Garrett and company were trying to keep off the streets, and when one reads his criminal history, you can see why.

Olinale Ah You should never be released from prison.

We should have a place like Broadmoor in the UK where these types are put away for life.

The British Courts have a marvellous sentence “Detained during Her Majesty’s pleasure”.

In other words put away, locked up and tje key thrown away.

    Nasty piece of work.

Labour effectively repealed the right of courts to determine consecutive sentences. There are a few people who need them: William Bell, William Burton, to start the list.

Looks flash in the white mans suit. Arsehole.

Another psychopath identified. Don’t try and fix him. Just keep him out of society.

Has anyone noticed how the scum have latched on to “writing letters” to mitigate their actions and influence sentencing?

Surely the judiciary have cottoned on to that and aren’t influenced by it.

The Nats would be well-advised to focus on Labour being soft on crime in the next election. FFS, the “three strikes” law is the best thing to happen here in the last 40 years, and yet Labour would repeal it!

    What an ugly tie.

I’m curious to know the reasons for the original conviction being quashed. Now that the retrial has concluded and he’s again been found guilty and sentenced, those suppressed reasons for the original conviction being quashed ought to be released.

The Herald this morning said it was because his past convictions were mentioned during the first trial. Seems that’s actually prejudicial, rather than stunningly relevant.
