The Brown Out is in effect

Today we will not speak of it.

Go outside and enjoy the day off. Go to the beach, visit a museum, art gallery, a movie…or stay at home  and enjoy a book, music or just bumming about.

What ever you do avoid newspapers, news media, television or radio.

Continue to enjoy Whale Oil Beef Hooked safe in the knowledge that we will not speak of today.

A normal two armed human being will play Circus Galop long before this day will be a celebration of nation hood.

The only brown thing I’ll be watching today is a bottle of speights. Me and me mates are going fishing in tribal waters just for a laugh :-)

The only brown thing we will see is inside our 2 years olds nappy.Similar to Northland, but easy to get rid off.

Don’t worry, phil u will ruin it soon enough.

Me, I’ll be cleaning the yard and gardens and thinking about next weekends holiday to the gold coast and port douglas, certainly not that day which we must not speak of.

    • Gazzaw

The Gold Coast & Port Douglas? Rich prick! Parasite on the working classes. You are obviously not paying enough tax.

Shhh not so loud, I don’t want to be greeted with ‘Occupy Auckland Airport’ on Saturday.

I am going to Fiji to support the fascist military regime there.

So….anybody doing anything special for Waitangi Day this year?

    • Euan Rt

      yeah, we’re 200 for 1

    • Gazzaw

Sure have Buns. I’ve been at work so that I can take the day off on Friday & go fishing on an empty harbour which makes a lot of sense to me. One of my youngert colleagues has been working so that he can take Valentines Day off and give his girl a really good time. Lucky bastard!  Both seem better options than watching the soap opera up at Waitangi.

      • Bunswalla

I hope the harbour’s empty of boats but full of snapper, like your bin. Enjoy

      • Greg M

Bugger fishing, me and the handbrake are taking the yacht out on Friday to practice short handed racing, followed by a night or two at izzy bay. Might see you out there Gazz! Regards Greg.

I’m at work, getting a shitload done cos the phone’s not ringing.
Cricket on TV and a cold export or 3 !

Still getting my BP under control after watching tv news last night!

  • Gazzaw

Second night in a row that I haven’t watched TV One or TV3 News to avoid the WD soap opera. Instead I watched an amalgam of Sky News & BBC News. Maybe the NZ TV news staff should take a long hard look at these programmes and find out just what good news presentation & production is all about. Investigative journalism & articulate reporters? Forgotten arts it seems in NZ.

I think I might work out a news regime for myself using My Sky & produce my own version for home consumption. Sure, I’ll miss the domestic stuff but that isn’t too much of a miss. I could suffer TV One in small doses in the case of a major NZ news item.
