A rooting politician. Who would have ever thought?

The Telegraph

Yeah, no way he paid for it…it is all a great big fat lie:

Former US presidential candidate John Edwards has issued a vehement denial of a report that he paid for sex with a prostitute working for a Scottish madam during his bid for the White House.

A call girl working for Anna Gristina, the alleged “Millionaire Madam,” reportedly told investigators in 2008 that she had sex with Mr Edwards the previous year at a New York hotel.

A lawyer for Mr Edwards, Allison Van Laningham, told the Politico website: “Mr Edwards categorically denies that he was involved with any prostitute or service. These allegations are false, defamatory, and he puts those who would publish or repeat them on notice that they acting with actual malice by reporting or repeating them.”

I love how the The Telegraph is actually calling him out by doing exactly what he doesn’t want.

just a thought, if prostitution is legal then why do people still have a problem with it?  If it is morally wrong then why make it legal in the first place.  (not sure on law in the US but what would the nz public say if John Key when out and got laid for a few bucks, it is legal and he has the right to so)

    • Whalehunter

Yeah i agree, this is more PC bullshit, because someone is “offended”. boo hoo, its legal, get over it, and get on with your own sad little lives eh.

    • Gazzaw

JK would be worrying a lot less about what the public would say than he would Bronagh.

      • jay cee

sorry didn’t scroll down, great minds think alike

    • Peter Wilson

Probably in need of a naivety barometer here. If JK did that, he’d be pretty much finished. Not because it’s morally wrong – which it isn’t. More that his brand is that of a family man, and hypocrisy is not a good look. Think Tiger Woods and the sponsorships he’s lost.

NZers have voted in transexuals, gays, even teachers. All morally questionable(for some) but no hypocrisy or double standards involved.

      • That’s the thing that really pisses me off about the legalisation and people’s unchanged morality – geez it should be fine – even with Bronagh – if she’s not giving him what he needs, let him safely go and get it from a professional, no strings, rather than risk blackmail etc. from some power fucker bimbo!!

    • jay cee

      just gotta convince bronagh eh?

      • Peter Wilson

        NB for you too Neil.

  • Blokeintakapuna

There’s illegal and immoral. JK knows full well the difference and that’s EXACTLY why the Labour party are so worried about him – because he makes their antics look completely unsavory, unethical and almost illegal… even more so when their so called “leader” tries to cover it up…

e.g naked 18 y/o (almost a minor / child) fleeing the Deputy Leaders home at 3am escaping the wanton, drunk clutches of their Star performer Hughesey… but it was all a big misunderstanding when hughesey asked him if he wanted some gingernuts with his tea…

John Edwards – wasn’t he the US Presidential candidate who said they’d win against Bush because he “had the best hair”?

Shallow, flakey, and with a taste for hookers – sounds pretty typical of most of the US Democratic leaders from the last few decades (except the Messiah of course!) so why is this newsworthy?

  • jay cee

of course john key must be delighted that you guys are theorising about him having extramarital flings with prostitutes. would you be so understanding if we were talking about shearer.
