Protesting at taxpayers expense

Can anyone explain for me why the MP for Wigram helped make up the numbers in the wharfies march?

Presumably we paid for her to be there.

Having seen Megan Woods at the POAL strike, I can confirm Wigram has no port. It does have an airport though.

Pretty sure that airports now closed – used to be an Air Force base – now being pulled up for houses

    • Ciaron_A

      Rest assured, you are correct.

She was one of the “5,000” then? I was talking to a mate in the police last night and he said that 2,000 would be an exaggeration for the rent a crowd that showed. It was the same dissaffected nut jobs that always turn up (and he included the Labour party MP’s in that). He reckons you could walk through them swinging a dead cat and not hit anyone.

  • Kosh103

MPs have always gotten involved in protests. I seem to recall a National MP driving a tractor up the steps of parl.

If you dont like MPs supporting the people who vote for them then I suggest finding a country where this does not happen and move there.

    • In Vino Veritas

” If you dont like MPs” – read the post and understand Kosh. And you are supposedly a teacher. Is it any wonder schools are failing children in this country if you are one of our finest.

His point was Kosh, that the Labour MP’s are supporting a minority group of irrational, dissaffected loonies who think the world owes them a living, and a group which no one else supports because they are the architects of their own downfall (25,000 people took the time to turn up at the Volvo Ocean Race base on Saturday – sort of puts the unionists importance in perspective doesnt it?)  And do you want to dispute the crowd numbers?

      • Kosh103

They are free to support whomever they like. Esp those that are prob going to vote for them. Just like National does.

        Get over it.

      • In Vino Veritas

God help the kids you teach Kosh. You realise you have to have some qualifications to be a teacher these days? Which implies that you have to have a modicum of intelligence. If you’d had to qualify in the last 30 years, you’d never make it.

      • Pete George

Kosh – do you think air travel to protest like that is a wise use of taxpayer money? (no matter what party they might be from)

If they paid for themselves it would be up to them what they protested.

      • Peter Wilson

I’d have to side with Kosh here. Rather silly to say they are supporting “irrational…loonies”; surely a matter of opinion. And comparing crowd numbers is fun; how many people turned up to mount an anti-protest against the wharfies? Wasn’t it three?

    • starboard

Do you always have to come out swinging your handbag kosh?

      • Kosh103

Hey its the ever hoomophobic starbaord.

      • starboard

hey its the rampant homosexual” I love dick sandwiches” kosh…

      • Kosh103

Yes starboard I do love a nice cock. Nothing better, and given that I am gay it is a rather good thing I enjoy a bit of man on man. Otherwise it would just be no fun at all.

    • Jester

I think you will find that Ardern was protesting in his place of employment. No additional air travel was required to support those he represents.

But let’s not let that fact get in the way of your standard they did it fist argument.

      • Kosh103

It has nothing to do with who did it first.

It has to do with the right bitching about something that their lot do as well, pretending otherwise.

If you want to have a go at MPs for supporting the people that vote for them, fine. Just be sure to have a go at ALL parties, not just the ones you dont like. Otherwise the bitching just looks rather silly and petty.

      • Jester

Actually Kosh it has everything to do with it. In your mad rush to get out your atypical smarmy arsed retort you cleary made the comparison with Ardern to justify Labours importing of shit stirrers into the Port dispute. A comparison that doesn’t exist.

Perhaps if you read Whales posts in there entirety before going all Pricilla Queen of the Desert on us you may not look like a dumbfuck in future.

      • Kosh103

My my jester, rather snippy when facts are introduced to the 2 faced way the right carry on.

        Suck it up.

      • Jester

Snippy? What type of bloody word is snippy?

        Getting “snippy” is for cockgobblers,

      • Kosh103

And I see when made a real fool of jester pulls out homophobic slurs.

        All class that fellow.

      • Jester

Here we go. Kosh plays the homophobe card. How suprising.

You really need to come to terms with your sexuality Kosh. It’s hindering your ability to mount a robust argument. Whilst I understand coming out is a big step for you, but using your sexual orientation as a crutch when people disagee with you really only indicates your lack of confidence and also an element of self loathing.

You’re gay, we get it, but no one really cares, not me, not 99% of this board, just you it seems.

      • Kosh103

And yet you gladyly use gay slurs when you get pissy.

Suck it up, you are what you are and your words speak volumes.

      • Jester

I await you to start bleating about hate speech. No one cares Kosh. Like I pointed out, take my comments however you like but your continued steering of topics towards you sexual leanings is rather transparent and a sure sign you are either so insecure in yourself or you like some tv evangelist harbor a belief that because you are on a journey every one has to come along for the ride as a sign of acceptance of your life choice.

You want to take it up the chook that’s your business. I’m just sick of hearing your faux offense.

  • greenmuppet

Shovel too seems to be expressing his solidarity on behalf Ohariu. Flies find shit irresistible, there is no other explanation.

  • quirky_username

Perhaps it is a pre-emptive move incase the earthquakes continue to shunt Christchurch around to the point Wigram does infact become port-side?

  • Jester

    Memo to Megan:
    1. Don’t wear baggy clothes! This is one of the biggest mistakes many full figured women make. They think they can camouflage their obeseness, but all baggy clothes do is to make you appear even bigger than you already are. A better approach is to buy clothes that fit properly, not too tight, not too loose. Think Goldilocks: you want clothes that fit just right!

    • In Vino Veritas

Oh I don’t know Jester, a hessian sack would be quite fetching no?

  • starboard

My my… she does like the knife and fork doesnt she…big cowsbody.

  • davcav

    Just for Kosh:

If you can read this then thank a teacher.
If you can’t read this then thank a teacher’s union.

    • Kosh103

      Half right

If you can read this thank both a teacher and the teachers union for figthing poor govt ideas that would have robbed you of the ability to read.

      • starboard

nancy should be barred from the profession , your sort give teaching a bad name.

      • Kosh103

Hey its the homophobic fool, back again and showing us all his stupidity.

  • Peter WIlson

It’s a bit silly complaining about any MP being anywhere in fact, you’d struggle to find a job descriptions for the job. I know we’re all right wingers here, but it’d be nice to see a little objectivity.

    • Kosh103

Speak for yourself. I am no right winger ;0)

Nice to see though at least one of you isnt 2 faced on this issue.

      • Pukakidon

Kosh you are a closet right winger that is why you are always hanging around here.   Dont deny it

      • Kosh103

        Center left all the way.

And perhaps you should ask starboard why he hangs out on the standard. Unless there is someone over there using the same name when Cam posted a comment from over there on here. ;0)

Maybe he is a left winger.

  • Madison

This is the useless piece of labour leftovers that Jim Anderton personally campaigned to put into parliament and you’re wondering why she’s troughing it up?  Guess he was a good mentor.
