I think theyre gonna need more crowd barriers and maybe even water cannons!!!

    • Salacious T Crumb

yep – living up to the adage, 3’s a crowd…

    • frosty

Just hope a silt trap is put in place before the water cannons come out – or they will be knee deep in hippy filth on Featherston…

The evidence is that people just don’t care about asset sales: The protests are tiny. Labour based their campaign on the issue and their vote share was an 83-year low. Asset sales was the main issue at the election and turnout was down. The greens need to pay people to collect signatures opposing it.

In 2014 the the sky won’t have fallen down and the issue will be forgotten by all but a few leftist apparatchiks, just like VSM isn’t an issue now despite Labour dying in a ditch over it a year ago.

    Earthworms all .

Where are the National haters? Where is John Minto? Where is the  rent a crowd from Toxic Greens, where is my uncle Winnie? I am shocked….

    • gazzaw

Protesting outside what they thought was the Mighty River Power building in Auckland – except it wasn’t. All ten of them.

  • BD

Come in dispatch….I may need back up, protestors have just doubled in number.

  • Arnie

Are they protesting against the proposed asset sales by National or the $10B of previous sales by Labour?????

  • Wilma

Just had a call from a staff member at Genesis Energy in Penrose, Auckland, next door to Mighty River Power offices.  Protesters are gathering outside there apparently.  Not sure what they hope to achieve being there, but it’s giving the staff a laugh anyway.

    • Pukakidon

Wilma that was not a protest, that was two people waiting for the bus.

  • Kthxbai

I can’t wait to see how the Dom Post spins this tomorrow

Seems the few misguided rabble at the gates of parliament, are just that. They are farting against thunder    The sale of  shares in the power companies ,will be a fait accompli. The Nats got a mandate to govern NZ IN NOVEMBER  2011  at last that is what they are doing. For all the bludgers and lying opposition parties ,what part of the mandate dont they understand.

  • Bobo

Looks like half those in the crowd are camera and news crew!

    • Mediaan

At least two from the SIS as well, usually …

  • Greg M

Of course, if all opponents gave up their WFF, student loans and all the multitude of other “entitlements” we wouldn’t have to do a partial float anyway.
And I wonder what percentage of the protesters had to take time off work?

    • gazzaw

      Work? What’s that?

    • TravisPoulson

Most of them probably have gov…… I mean tax payer sponsorship.

    • ZOLTAN

Student loans? Don’t tar the thousands of NZ students with the same brush as the small mixture of arts students and Unite/Mana rent-a-commies that sporadically get together in Auckland! I plan to work more (luckily we aren’t all allowance bludgers), buy shares, sell them on for more and pay off a good chunk of my student loan.

Heard one of Bob Jones fat butterballs    Clayton Cosgrove waxing on in Parliament on share sales, and putting the boot into Peter Dunne. Two things,Cosgrove, was dumped from his electorate seat at the last election, because he fought the election on anti asset sales.Secondly he was exposed as a big spender of taxpayers money on his credit card.Nine meals at $6300,a Suit at $1600,a Taxi Fare $700 ,yet he has the gall to castigate Peter Dunne.Seems Cosgrove’s sense of entitlement knows no boundaries.Sums up Lie-bour trough suckers. Also Cosgrove lost his electoral seat, Peter Dunne won his.

    • Phar Lap

Cosgrove also made a comment the sales were a travesty of democracy.Yeah right.Wonder where his butt head was when  in 2003 the Privy Council demise was fast tracked by his ass hole party,Lie-bour with the help of the Cancerous” Green” Party. Seems that was alright then.

    • gazzaw

Cosgrove must have spent some dosh on get his mono-eyebrow plucked as well. Noticed that he now has two?

  • Johnbronkhorst

Labour and the greens appear to have over egged the pudding a bit re support for anti asset sales. But philosophies based on half truths and many blatant lies will always end up with this kind of reaction…………….being ignored!!!!

  • Johnbronkhorst

In that shot, I count about 19-20 people, not wearing a high vis vest. WOW…how underwealming.

  • Pukakidion

Everyone else was working so they can take part of the mixed ownership of 49% of the assets.
