Proverbs 9

Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return.
Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.
So don’t bother correcting mockers;
they will only hate you.
But correct the wise,
and they will love you.
Instruct the wise,
and they will be even wiser.
Teach the righteous,
and they will learn even more.

Wonder where that will leave the developing story on Lie-bours Clayton Cosgrove.

  • Johnbronkhorst

Claiming he declared all his donations and expenses….YES he did, as in his interview on TV3, he made a big deal about claiming the wood for his election signs. Seems this means he attempted to HIDE this donation amoung a FLOOD of irrelevant declations…..Who declares or has ever declared the wood for their election signs????????? Trying to hide things in plain sight!!! Also kept challengeing her on assuptions that he had done something wrong, she chickened out, I would have said that he was perhaps protesting too much and asked him if he was BLATANTLY dishonest and how would we know because he would lie about that too!!

What about the proverb that says thou shall not commit adultery?

    • Phar Lap

Ask the Taleban in Afghanistan. They have just murdered a woman for the alleged act.

    • Actually Faye, that was one of the ten commandments, not a proverb…

But don’t let that stop you smearing someone…

What happened to the other 5 commandments that Monty Python destroyed for us?

Is that why the world is going to hell in a handcart kinda quickly?

    • Agent BallSack

What about the proverb that says “Judge not lest you be judged” Faye?

    • Spanishbride

Anyone who rebukes a mocker will get an insult in return.

Anyone who corrects the wicked will get hurt.

So I don’t bother correcting mockers/ smearers. I have no interest in lies or being insulted. I have no interest in being hurt. I am not giving anyone that kind of power over me. I really like this proverb. It is very true. When you engage someone who is telling lies about you you only give them oxygen.

This is the first time ever I have commented on the daily proverb post for obvious reasons. There, I’m done.
