Dealing with Dickheads

The AFL has unique ways of dealing with things, they certainly take a stronger stance on domestic violence than the National party, but this explanation of what should happen to people who invade the ground is a good way of dealing with dickheads:

Watters described the last-quarter incident with the male intruder as ridiculous.

“The immediate thing is you actually fear for the safety of your players,” Watters told ABC Radio.

“Players are engrossed in the game and you just need one idiot to run and tackle someone from behind or get involved and a player trips over and that would be horrendous.

“Bizarre is the right word. All of a sudden you look up and see a guy running through the middle of the ground.

“The message to anyone who thinks it is their two seconds of fame is just pull your head in. It is just absolutely ridiculous.

“I just hope it is something we look at closely and really stamp it out with really brutal sanctions and if the security guards get the opportunity to make a very strong forward-50 tackle, I reckon they should go for it.”

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story.  And when he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet.   Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet, and as a result he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist that takes no prisoners.

He is fearless in his pursuit of a story.

Love him or loathe him.  But you can’t ignore him.
