Yesterday I blogged about Petersen’s Hunting search for Hunting’s sexiest Meat Eater…look at this crew from Whakatane.

Most attractive meat eaters……….   And, they caught it themselves.

They look like they qualify!!

Seventy-seven of the 78 teams contesting the Polaris Big Four hunting and fishing competition went home with their tales between their collective legs this weekend.

The only all-female team in the field, appropriately called ‘No Nuts’, bagged first prize by presenting the heaviest average weight, comprised of a stag, a boar, a cock pheasant and a trout.

Rachael Blackie, Tauranga, Stacey Rust, Whakatane, Bryar Bakalich, Opotiki and Paula Roberts, Whakatane more than held their own at the Polaris Big Four competition on Saturday.

Each species was allocated a number of points relating to its weight or number of bars on the pheasant’s tail, which were then added up, with the winning team being the one with the most points.

Organiser Ken Griffin did not have the results at hand when contacted, but says the team, made up of Rachael Blackie, of Tauranga , Stacey Rust, of Whakatane, Bryay Bakalich, of Opotiki and Paula Roberts, of Whakatane, won a Polaris Ranger 500 valued at $16,000 for their efforts.
