Awesome news from US elections


This looks like great news…there is no sign of a slow down of negative campaigning from the US. I can’t wait until Romney starts chucking his millions around.

It’s going to get worse before it gets better — if it gets better.

Both presidential candidates and their allies have for months bombarded the airwaves with an escalating series of charges and countercharges, and as any swing state voter with a television set can attest, the onslaught has only picked up during the so-called summer doldrums.

On Tuesday, the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA upped the ante. It unveiled a 60-second TV spot featuring a former steelworker who lost his job — and the health insurance that came with it — after Bain Capital purchased and then shut down the Kansas City plant where he worked.

Joe Soptic, who had appeared in a previous Obama ad, adds that his wife later became ill. Though he does not know when she first felt sick, Soptic speculates that she did not speak up about it because she knew that they could not afford to pay for treatment. She later died of cancer.

“I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he’s done to anyone,” Soptic says at the ad’s conclusion. “And furthermore, I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned.”

With the Democratic and Republican conventions less than a month away, some observers had hoped the two campaigns might take a more positive approach before the final two-month slog to Election Day.

But by and large there has been little indication that either side is willing to take a break from the mudslinging that has dominated the 2012 presidential race.

    Great stuff EVERYONE needs to understand how the current system (Yes thats right – Romney did this because those actions are rewarded under the current system) affects real people so they can stand up and say No more! This is unnacceptable!

    This sort of electionaring is hardly new in American politcs. Thomas Jeffersons campaign message was  “Adams is a hideous hermaphroditical character with neither the force and
    firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman.” … John Adams responded with “Jefferson is a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father.”

    Abraham Lincoln called his opponent or was called by his opponent (cant remember which way) a “Hatchet faced nutmeg dealer.”

    These same tactics are the same old shit taken to a new low by Obama and Romney. But the fact remains that neither candidate actually talks about the issues of the day, how they think they should be fixed or their views on government.

    Instead they just resort to ad hominem attacks because they sadly realize that a presidential election is nothing more than a popularity contest where people think there are differences and they are choosing a better future by selecting their candidate. The truth is they are one in the same; peedlers of war, debt, destruction of liberty and growth of ever larger and intrusive government.

    Maybe they also realise that if they were to campaign on the issues then the majority of the people would see they are exactly the same and offer the same. So the dirty politics will continue and the cheesy slogans that don’t actually mean anything and that are easily brushed aside and forgotten once the campaign is over will continue.

    How did he do it, given the relatively small amounts that the law permits to be contributed to such a plan on an annual basis? Romney has not explained this conundrum”

    So the max amount he could put into this account is in the 00,000$ while he was actually working.
